The first half of the film is full of flowing liquid imagery. The sea that swallowed men’s liquid and submerged a couple; even when it was driving a truck on the road, the flowing world formed by the endless stream of roads and pedestrians. It is the flow of desire, and it is also drifting with the flow.
The truck carrying it is like a boat drifting on the sea. It and its ship are more driven by desire or random circumstances. Just like a scene in the film, when it meets a group of women going to a nightclub head-on, it blends into the crowd and becomes a part of the flow, heading to a destination that is far from planned.
The atmosphere in the first half is chaotic, mechanically repetitive (the trapping process is repeated many times), and lacks intelligence. It is just a skin that drifts with the crowd, without thoughts.
Later, it began to doubt its own situation, so it got out of the truck (the small boat, the diaphragm, the protective layer), and was exposed to the confusion of a thick fog.
Leaving the old model, it began to use its legs to make substantial contact with the earth and to think physically.
