I finally watched this movie that I have been coveting since junior high school. I don’t know why, but I have watched a lot of old movies. This one makes me feel very good. I hope it is not because I am too bored to watch it very seriously hahaha.
There are many stylized films, especially romance films. Whether this kind of film can impress the audience often depends on the details, and whether there is a scene that touches your heart.
The old movies have some common problems, such as the plot is not very coherent, the acting skills of the actors are a little exaggerated, and there is a sense of stage play, but perhaps because the plot of this film is relatively simple, it seems very coherent in comparison, and the whole movie looks very delicate. No nonsense and one superfluous shot.
In the opening chapter, the ballerina girl and the colonel met. The short dialogue was very tense. The ambiguity between the two people was rising slowly. The lines were just right, and the two couldn't hide their love for each other. The little thought of the first meeting - knowing that we are about to say goodbye, but still trying to create a little more possibility of reunion in the future.
The colonel came to see a girl dancing, handed a note, and was reprimanded by his wife, all of which were full of the taboo of campus love. Good friends helped to pass the word and facilitated the meeting. These are all essential elements of youthful campus love. After changing the background of war, it seems more tense and vivid. .
The scene where the colonel is getting married is also very well shot. The officer represents the recognition of the colonel's social identity, the uncle represents the colonel's family status, and even the part where the colonel asks the girl's surname becomes very sincere and precious. Until the girl returned to the dormitory and told her friends that she was getting married, every clip before that was full of heartbeat and love. Simple and impulsive, pure and beautiful.
In the second half, the excess is also so natural, there is no rigid feeling at all, everything is taken for granted in the war. Vivien Leigh's eyes and demeanor are handled very well here, from a little girl who is ignorant of the world to a woman who has experienced wind and rain. I watched "Hollywood" before, and Vivien Leigh in it was a bit of a crazy woman. If that's the case, it wouldn't be difficult to get this change right.
The colonel, uncle, and mother are perfectly unreal in this film, and only in this way can this story turn into a complete tragedy. The colonel looked into the distance and knew that it was a foregone conclusion. The girl walked on the street in a trance. His eyes, and the headlights approaching on the opposite side, intertwined, ending this love.
I am very fond of this kind of film that makes people concentrate throughout the whole process. It is not lengthy, there is no nonsense, and every scene is lovely and indispensable. Worth a look.
Why am I writing this because I bought a new keyboard and wanted to use it, hard to write.
