Weekend Movie Series "Mr. Church"

Like a spring, gurgling, this drama quietly tells the story of companionship.

A terminally ill mother and daughter cherish each other and depend on each other for life; a healthy chef, reading, playing the piano, and cooking is not only "getting started", but has suffered from the trauma of his original family since childhood.

An opportunity to bring them together, they need his material help, and he needs their spiritual support. In need of each other, life will continue.

I started going out to study in high school, and the meaning of the most primitive home became more and more vague to me. From the active phone greeting every week to the active inquiry of the mother every week. Home is farther and farther away from me.

Now I have my own job, life circle, circle of friends, and I am about to start my own family. My parents have been away from my circle for a long time. Only when I go home during the New Year and the festival every year, I try to prove the care from family.

Our parents are like stars in the sky, looking at us from a distance. We are busy with work now, and we just keep our heads down and running. In the dark night, they still try to illuminate our way forward with a faint light, even though we are used to walking alone in the dark night.

Mr. Church quotes

  • Marie: Charlie, Charlie wait. I am angry, too. You give birth to this tiny innocent little thing and you think, 'My God... , Oh my God, help me protect her.' And that is what you spend every waking moment doing. And then one day you wake up and you've got cancer. And you realize, my God, oh my God, what she will need the most protection from is your own life slipping away from her. But you love her so much. And you just want to smother her with love, and hugs, and words. With every moment you've got left.

  • Charlie: People act strange around death. There are those who talk about everything... but the person who died. Those who talk about only the person who died. Those who try to cheer you up. And those who can't help but make you cry. And then there are those who say nothing at all. Because they don't have to
