the nature of marriage

1. Roman Polanski is a master of insight into human nature, and this "Bitter Moon" is the most prominent one of his many works. Masters are good at grasping the essence from the appearance of complicated things. This work of Roman Polanski can be said to see through the essence of all marriages, and the truth is shocking.

2. The film has two protagonists, a British gentleman and his wife and an American writer and his wife. The two protagonists have a mirror-image relationship, one is bland, the other is vigorous; one is the appearance of marriage, and the other is the truth of marriage. The American writer couple is a fictional imagination, which is not difficult to see from the film's line "I'm just a fantasy and amusement in boring voyage". At the end of the story, the symbolism of the union of the two heroines confirms this.

3. British couples are experiencing the seven-year itch of marriage. The husband is a complete gentleman, and the wife is a complete lady. Their married life appears to be peaceful, but in fact it is in jeopardy. They try to take a long journey to relieve the depression, save the marriage, and find the passion of the past. But at first, mysterious Indian travelers poured cold water on them. Indian travelers warn them that the destination of their trip, India (and the destination of their marriage and love), is not as beautiful as they imagined. India is dirty and bad, and it is a nightmare.

4. Oscar and Mimi, an American writer couple created during a long journey, describe the process and essence of marriage. Oscar and Mimi's marriage has gone through three stages: the first stage is a perfect love story, the second stage is the downslope that begins after reaching the peak of eroticism, and the third stage is the naked and ugly humanity exposed after tearing the skin. British couples seem to respect each other for many years, but they are actually going through these three stages, and now they have developed to the second stage and are about to come to the third stage of tearing their faces. It can be seen from the English gentleman getting tired of his wife and chasing Mimi frantically. The marriage relationship between British couples is just concealed by conservative culture and hypocritical humanity. It doesn't look so bad, and its essence is actually the same as Oscar and Mimi.

5. Oscar shot Mimi and said, "We are all too greedy". The storyline is symbolic and philosophical. Most of the men like new things, like curiosity, cheating, messing with women, and uncontrolled pleasure-seeking, which is a kind of greed. A woman's greed lies in control. It is also a kind of greed to ask a man not to go out, to control your freedom, money, and to give her all your heart to her. My wife often said viciously to me, tell you to smoke and drink, and it will be fine when you are old and in a wheelchair and fall into my hands. This situation reminds me of the third stage of Mimi and Oscar's marriage, which makes me shudder. This stems from greed. A woman's greed lies in her whole-hearted desire to control you, without allowing you to have any interest and a trace of freedom.

6. Oscar shot Mimi to death, and the British couple hugged and trembled. Indians came over and wished them a happy new year. In today's fashion, Indians hope that they still love each other after seeing the essence of marriage. What a difficult thing this is!
