Can a star-studded lineup make a good movie?

A star-studded work doesn't necessarily mean a good movie, and this recently launched Netflix's "Land Forsaken" is a typical example of a failure . The film brings together several actors from superhero blockbusters, as well as many powerful actresses and rising stars. Logically speaking, how could such a fantastic lineup fail? It seems that the director and the script are the culprits. It is easy to see that it is a literary adaptation, very much like the story of human evil in the American wilderness written by author Faulkner. There is a male voice narrating the whole process, which is said to be the voice of the original author, and this too lazy approach seems to have failed to solve too many difficult problems in the script.

A story with many characters and clues like this obviously needs a few episodes of mini-series to tell it thoroughly. It is really stretched to show it in the form of a regular drama. The result of directors and screenwriters compelling characters to be all-encompassing is, of course, a bland running account, with no clue or group of characters that impresses anyone. Even the most impressive Robert Pattinson, his performance of the perverted priest, can only last for less than half an hour before hanging up, and this is only less than half of the film's progress! And the last two shootouts between the hero and the villain didn't evoke the tension, but it made him feel more and more tired, similar to the feeling of dozing off when he finally hitched a ride with a stranger.

In my opinion, this kind of theme should cut down the lengthy space drastically and focus on depicting one clue or two groups of characters, because there are so many interesting characters in this story, besides the priest, there are also murder couples, Brothers and sisters who are not blood relatives, a woman who was slashed to death and her husband... If the Coen brothers or Quentin were to direct the film, the viewership of the film would be doubled.
