In a bookstore, one is never alone

On a rainy day, my mood fell to the bottom, my inner strength was swallowed up, and I didn't know what to do to get back to life. When I feel lonely in my heart, I wonder if those happy moments in October really existed.

I finished watching this movie in two time periods that were pieced together by the aroma of chocolate biscuits and the dark bed. I like the dark green tones in the movie, whether it's the heroine sitting alone in the grass in the bay, or the old bookstore with the sound of rain, or the heroine's green retro floral dress in different shades.

A woman fails to open a bookstore in a town that doesn't need one, and that's the whole story. It starts like this, and it ends like this. No climax, no contrast. Only those who love books can understand the feeling of betting in persistence. Because "in a bookstore, one will never feel alone".

The heroine wore a dark pomegranate dress to go to a small town party, hung up the "old house bookstore" sign with her inner joy, arranged the books one by one, and laid out the ledger carefully on the table, with the little girl Drink afternoon tea and chat together, talk about the ancient history of lacquer dishes, read alone in bed until dawn, the moonlight shines on her, meet the only old man in the town who reads, share books with him, and understand each other...

Just after writing this, I feel a lot calmer in my heart, and I think I can slowly re-enter my life.

    Christine: You're so bloody kind.

  • Narrator: [Voice over] Mr. Brundish lived alone in the oldest house in Hardborough. He didn't particularly like his own company, but after long years of battle, he had reached a lasting truce with himself. He adored books with the same passion with which he detested his fellow men.
