In a bookstore, one is never alone

On a rainy day, my mood fell to the bottom, my inner strength was swallowed up, and I didn't know what to do to get back to life. When I feel lonely in my heart, I wonder if those happy moments in October really existed.

I finished watching this movie in two time periods that were pieced together by the aroma of chocolate biscuits and the dark bed. I like the dark green tones in the movie, whether it's the heroine sitting alone in the grass in the bay, or the old bookstore with the sound of rain, or the heroine's green retro floral dress in different shades.

A woman fails to open a bookstore in a town that doesn't need one, and that's the whole story. It starts like this, and it ends like this. No climax, no contrast. Only those who love books can understand the feeling of betting in persistence. Because "in a bookstore, one will never feel alone".

The heroine wore a dark pomegranate dress to go to a small town party, hung up the "old house bookstore" sign with her inner joy, arranged the books one by one, and laid out the ledger carefully on the table, with the little girl Drink afternoon tea and chat together, talk about the ancient history of lacquer dishes, read alone in bed until dawn, the moonlight shines on her, meet the only old man in the town who reads, share books with him, and understand each other...

Just after writing this, I feel a lot calmer in my heart, and I think I can slowly re-enter my life.

When I was in college, I was reading novels in bed, watching the sunlight gradually drifting on the white wall in the afternoon, and I thought to myself, I want to open a bookstore too. Those who have this idea are destined to lose when they read this book, but they just cling to it, like an afternoon dream. The density of the novel is not large, and it is still in the film. A woman fails to open a bookstore in a town that doesn't need one, and that's the whole story. It starts like this, and it ends like this. No climax, no contrast. Everything is light. The movie still found a bad guy, a gentleman. The gentleman setting is also anti-climax. This movie is not about dreams come true. Even if there are many places in the movie, there is the urge to cry: the reading and listing of lolita (which is also one of the few remaining memory points of the novel), the Chinese tray that the working girl is eager to get, and the desire to hope that Florence can be written in the will. ; even a few words on the beach make me sad. I don't remember whether the ending of the novel is so relieved and full of heritage. I didn't understand it at the time, but now I understand that the ending of the novel's alienated temperament and loss is the only possibility for its writing courage.

Mrs. Gammat is a woman politician who is good at wearing heavy makeup and flamboyant clothes, but has no good intentions in her heart The widow recalled by her husband is in contrast to the heroine who is not good at dressing plainly, but has a gentle heart. The afro girl Kristin is so cute, the last sentence of the film "In the bookstore, no one is alone" T^T tears~

The Bookshop quotes

  • Florence Green: You mustn't think I don't want to consider you for the job, its just that you don't really look old enough - or strong enough.

Christine: That happens after first glance. You look old; but, you don't look strong. Its all the same anyway. We're all available.

  • Edmund Brundish: That harpy. What she wants is an: arts center. Now, I ask you, what the hell does this damn village need with an arts center? And how could art have a center? But, she's got it into her head that it does.
