I think it's more appropriate to call Carter a "life coach."
Different from other inspirational films of sports competitions, this film shows the team members working hard for their dreams, but also racking their brains for their own studies. When he saw Carter sincerely thinking about the future for the children in the library, he was not only a basketball coach, but also a qualified teacher.
The movies I've seen before this are purely about the sport itself, and nothing else. However, Carter thought about the future of the children. He said sadly that only one out of every five of you can go to college. Some of my teammates at the time were in prison and some were dead. I don't just want your current basketball to get results, I want you to think about your future.
The team did not win the final victory, of course, this is a bit regrettable for the audience who likes happy endings, but this is more realistic. With just a short period of time, it is possible to get a certain improvement, but it is obviously not enough when facing an opponent of a certain strength. No matter how much I practice, I can't beat Lin Dan within a few months.
So I am not a perfectionist. In fact, I am tired of watching the "happy ending" that is common in domestic movies, and I often despise it. Reality will never be so kind, yes, it will always pay off, but it won't come too soon.
recommend.
