The original intention of watching this movie is because Tim Burton likes the "cruel" and "warmth" stories told by his "weird" movies. At first I thought "Todd the Barber" was a movie tailored for Tim Burton. After watching the trailer for "9", I felt the same again (although he was only a producer). Go watch it. After
running so far to watch it (in Singapore, it is only released on a small scale), of course you have to brag about how wonderful this movie is. However, the film is indeed wonderful.
1) Very gloomy, very weird, imaginative visual effect. The apocalyptic scene of "9" is actually similar to the "Terminator" series (because the plot is similar?). But because "9" is a cartoon, the color and setting are more exaggerated, and the protagonists are a group of little puppets, so the magic color and prophecy of the whole film are more important. A shot of the film: "Little Muppet 9 is sitting on a stiff severed hand that is about to decay" magnifies the tragic end of mankind in the apocalypse many times before projecting it onto the audience.
In addition, the image of the Muppet Terminators is the biggest bright spot. Compared with the little robot that appeared in the short film 9 before, I don't know how many times it has been upgraded. (This film is adapted from the graduation work of director Shane Acker, nominated for the 2005 Oscar for Best Short Film, short film of the same name. Students who are interested can check it out on YouTube.) The principle of waste utilization, you can use whatever you pick up, and create many green versions of "Muppet Terminator". And all of them have horrible shapes and unique functions. The destruction of mankind by such high technology is really inefficient! ! These monsters have appeared in the trailer and are really environmentally friendly!
2) Timur Bekmanbetov!! (Director Wanted, like Tim Burton, is also the producer of this film) Although there is no internal information, I am sure that this producer has made a full contribution to 9. Comparing the short film 9 and the feature film 9, the biggest difference apart from the addition of dialogue is the large number of action scenes. Needless to say, this film is more exciting than the wanted action, and the slow motion is much more reasonable, but it looks more real.
3) The character setting of "9" is the only bright spot in the script in my opinion. 1 Veterans who like to dominate people; 2 Old inventors; 3.4. Historians (librarians) 5 Practitioners; 6 Visionary artists (foretellers); 7 Martial arts masters; 8 Warriors; 9 Leading after a disaster Everyone defeated the evil ordinary people (you can think of Frodo of the Lord of the Rings, just this 9 is also voiced by Elijah Wood). If these 9 puppets represent the last hope of mankind, then I think they represent in turn: 1. Unity (to protect) 2. Wisdom (to inspire) 3. 4. Knowledge (to define and to teach) 5. Practice ( to guide) 6. Judgment (to lead) 7. Heroic (to defend) 8. Fearless (to guard) 9. Faith (to save us) Every word is the crystallization of the human spirit! ! !
In fact, every aspect of 9 is very good, but the most important aspect is the weakest-the script. (See the spoiler section for details)
Facts have proved that Tim Burton should have fulfilled the responsibility of producing the film very dutifully, and gave the young director the freedom to play to the greatest extent. So I can't see Tim Burton's style through and through (Tim Burton will at least tell the story well). But Timur Bekmanbetov is different. In the film, you can see the action scenes of flying away. If I were Shane Acker, I would give Timur half of my salary. Without him, the excitement level of "9" would have dropped by at least 50%. Or is it because Timur has overplayed that he has no time to tell the story? In my opinion, it should be that the director himself has no story to tell, because the short film 9 a few years ago was basically the same.
Finally, I can’t help thinking, if Cameron were to do the production, would he force the director to tell the story well? Then combined with such a gorgeous visual effect of this film to create another stunning masterpiece.
Looking forward to Avatar...
--------------------------------------------Spoiler split line------------------------------------------------ -In the
end, the film was destroyed in the most important part of the film. The script is too bad, no matter how good it is, it is useless.
The robot giant plagiarizes the Terminator and the countless loopholes in the story. Let me just say that I really can’t see it: the
old scientist in the trailer said meaningfully: "Our world is ending, Life must go on. "So he divided his soul into 9 parts and put it in the puppet (think of Voldemort), and he himself rested in peace after 9 was made. Then 9 accidentally activated the robot giant (so if there was no 9, the world would have been too peaceful, he just came out to add chaos). After sacrificing five companions, the robot giant was destroyed. The last five sacrificed companions ascended to heaven with gratification
... Then what? Why did Life go on? It seems that the whole world is left with the souls of 4/9 old scientists.
I think at least a few survivors should be arranged to make their debut to prove that life will go on. Or, a better ending I think is not to destroy the machine in the end, but to suck all the nine puppets in, so Voldemort, no, no, the nine souls of the scientist's grandfather weighed in the robot giant. Poly. The crystallization of the human spirit re-controls the robot giant, and justice defeats evil. The robot giant changes its mind and serves the reconstruction of the human world again. How great! ! Haha
Otherwise, the victory of these 9 puppets against the robot giant doesn't seem to make much sense, right...
