ordinary happiness

My ninth theatrical film of 2020.

It tells the story of a little boy who has several magical journeys and adventures with different members of the family when he is in a mood, and gradually becomes a better version of himself.

The older brother is jealous of the second-born younger sister (the name of the child is the future, which is really advanced), and the incompatibility, confusion and anxiety of the new family members are vividly displayed, as well as the parenting learning, evolution, and release of new parents. In the context of the release of the second child in China, it is very fitting. Families with a second child should feel the same way.

Maybe it's a little old. It's a bit of a headache to yell at the little boy all the time. He was hysterical for a second and became a mature boy immediately after a second. Children are so unpredictable in their mood and anger.

Among the encounters with relatives in several fantasy travels, the part of the great-grandmother who deliberately lost to the great-grandfather in the race impressed me the most. Such a little clever and cute is not inferior to the young people who are currently in love. In the best time, the person you like is by your side, how lucky and happy.

A clean house, couples who love each other, brothers and sisters who grow up together, and cute and rambunctious dogs, all holding hands like this, who says happiness can't be seen or touched? The ordinary happiness is that when you raise your head, children and dogs run happily, bow your head, and the person you love the most is beside you in a daze...

Mirai quotes

  • Father: This is your baby sister, Kun.

    Kun: Sister?

    Mother: Isn't she precious?

Kun: [gasping in amazement] She is.

[pokes his finger against her delicate hand]

Mother: You have to be gentle with her.

Kun: [gently takes hold of the baby's hand; she opens her eyes]

Father: She's awake. I think she's staring at you, Kun.

Mother: Come on, her eyes can't even focus yet.

Father: Well she sure looks like she's staring to me.

Mother: You must always be nice to her, okay?

    Kun: Okay.

Mother: And you have to protect her no matter what.

    Kun: Yeah.

    Mother: Always.

  • Mirai: You did it again. You tried to hit me with your bullet train even after Mom told you not to.

Kun: But it wasn't a bullet train!

Mirai: You aren't supposed to use a bullet train to hit people.

Kun: It was a Super Azusa.

Mirai: [angrily] I don't care what kind it was!

    [scoffs]

Mirai: And why can't you be a little nicer to Mom?

    Kun: I don't know, I just can't.

Mirai: It's her one day off from work. She doesn't get many and she has to spend it fighting with you. Come on, try.

Kun: [sniffling] I know... I'm not cute.

    Mirai: Huh?

Kun: [crying, wipes tear from his eye] Both Baby Mirai and Yukio are really cute. Not me. I know I'm not that cute anymore.

    [continues sobbing]

Mirai: Oh come on, that's not true. You're very cute!

    Kun: [walking away]

    Mirai: You're the cutest! Adorable!

    Kun: [crying harder; runs away]
