Watched two years ago, a movie I found by accident. I didn't have a lot of expectations before watching it, and I felt quite happy after watching it.
I am really not the material to write a film review. Generally, in the film review area, when I see that I can clear up my doubts (after all, not every film can be fully understood), or when I see a film review that resonates, I leave satisfied.
But this movie, after reading the previous comments, said that Christopher's Doc couldn't bear to attack Al, and I thought it was too ridiculous, so I couldn't help but talk about it.
In the last letter to his granddaughter, it was clear that Doc had already made arrangements.
Of course, you can also understand that he has long wanted to tell his granddaughter so he made arrangements. It may also be that he is afraid of being counter-killed when he starts to attack Val (although obviously there is no such atmosphere in the movie). Combining all the previous plots, I personally think the most reasonable plot is that he did not plan to attack Val in the first place. However, at the beginning, I didn't plan to kill it with such enthusiasm. His most reasonable prediction should be to make a phone call to the boss, if not, let go of Val secretly at best. Then, the sick boss threatened him with his granddaughter...
The reason, that's how it fits his character in the whole story. (Although there are several pictures of Dock holding a gun in the front, it is obvious that he has no desire to do it at all)
I always felt that Doc was a good baby. Whenever Val wanted to show the whole trick, Doc would always come out to persuade him, although it was also a symbolic persuasion. At the end, when the boss's two men came down to provoke, they finally showed their fangs.
Some more details:
The part about taking high blood pressure drugs in the bar made me laugh. Really careless old rascal.
At the end of the chapter, going to the church, Al looks so short.
Doc's granddaughter is so sweet.
Finally, the old habbits die hard, it sounds good.
