The male protagonist Joe at the beginning is really a waste. In order to prevent the asteroid from hitting the earth, humans launched a rocket, but the chemical waste after the explosion unexpectedly caused the mutation of cold-blooded animals, ranging from ants to lizards, all cold-blooded animals became huge and began to prey on humans. Humans were kicked off the top of the food chain, and after a while, only 5% of humans on the planet were left and had to hide in the sewers to survive. And Joe's role in his sanctuary is not a defender, but a cook. When monsters broke into the shelter, Joe was arranged to hide behind with the women. I finally mustered up the courage to help men fight monsters, but when faced with monsters, I was shaking like a sieve, and I couldn't pull the trigger at all. The reason for the determination to change is quite romantic: to find the girlfriend of seven years ago. Seven years ago, the male protagonist was forced to separate from his girlfriend, and when he fled with his parents, he saw his parents being trampled to death by monsters. The people in the sanctuary are all in pairs, only Joe is like a superfluous person. In this world, ex-girlfriend Amy may be his only relative. And now that Joe has finally reached out to Amy by radio, he decides to travel alone through 86 miles of no man's land to find love.
