Courage to face an imperfect world

Based on Gerard Conley's autobiography of the same name, the film tells the story of the son of a pastor in a conservative town in Arkansas who is ostracized by his family because of his homosexuality. In a small, feudal, conservative Arkansas town, the 19-year-old son of a Baptist minister has come out to his parents. Boys are forced to enroll in church-supported gay correction programs to "cure" homosexuality, or risk losing family members, friends and religion. He initially engages in a brutal 12-step treatment, but eventually summons the courage to run away, choosing to embrace his true self.

The boy's courage, which made him dare to come out and even run away, is really admirable. When we were young, we always tried to do something in one go, but when we were frustrated, we were discouraged, and it was difficult to stick to our choice. So I admire the boy's bravery. Even in such a closed town, in an atmosphere where the church's faith is greater than human nature, he still chose to be true to himself. Sexual orientation is predestined, and being true to your own choices is true freedom. In today's society, homosexuality is a phenomenon that needs to be taken seriously. Apart from the narrow speculation about homosexuals, they are also eager for love, just like you and me, so give them a little more space, and hope that homosexuals can also live in many years later. A fearless life under the sun.
