Spielberg is definitely the darling of Hollywood, his name has almost become synonymous with director, so that we have to add a "big" word before "director Spielberg". I think the main reason for this of course lies in Kubrick himself. Spielberg is definitely a director of the main theme. His works are always in line with the values of the mainstream society. Of course Kubrick is not afraid of a script like "Lolita", even if it is one of his least-known works "Barry Linden", he has succeeded in shooting every scene as beautiful as a still life painting— —It's completely different from his previous style.
This is Kubrick, he can change his style almost at will and create new techniques; he is even desperate for society, and dares to express his despair completely in the movie. Perhaps "Eye-opener", such an obscure and NC-17 film, is the last joke the master left us.
