The series tries to trace its origins and dig into the darkness that has been lurking in human nature for a long time, showing that real monsters are not born, but made.
This is a large-scale and heavy-duty horror film, but under the label of "restricted-level cool drama", the drama's plot, suspense, mirror movement, atmosphere, and actor modeling are all first-class.
The elements of suspense + thriller make "Ratchett" a drama that cannot be underestimated. The retro elements that can be seen everywhere, as well as the careful adjustment of composition and tone, create an unexpected sense of horror.
Under the surface of bloody horror, the play also buries the secret past of each character. They fall into darkness and despair step by step. All sins can find their original source.
It is worth mentioning that the show was created by the original crew of "American Horror Story". In addition to some resident familiar faces, Sharon Stone, Judy Davis, Cynthia Nixon and many other powerful actors have also been invited to join.
However, in my opinion, the biggest attraction of the show is Sarah Paulson's Latchett, in which she delivers a complex and varied performance. Sometimes sensual, sometimes cold, sometimes gentle, sometimes fierce, under her interpretation, the role of Ratchett has been endowed with features that are even better than "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".
