I didn't know much about Che Guevara before. I chose to watch this film because I wanted to get more into this legendary revolutionary, and secondly, because Che had visited the sugar factory in my hometown, which was my fate. This part is a biographical film that lasts for more than four hours. It tells the story of Che's turbulent revolutionary career, from his encounter with Castro and leading the Cuban revolution to the failure and death of Bolivia. It made me have a deeper understanding of Chi's revolutionary ideals and personality charm, and at the same time, I had more thoughts on the ideals of Chinese youth and the spiritual morality of society.
He has been missed by people all over the world since his death in 1967. His heroic, tragic, idealistic, and romantic revolutionary actions are worshipped by countless young people. Although the trend of liberalization has already swept across the Latin American continent, the glorious image of the revolutionary fighter has never faded, but instead has formed a social trend of great influence. In my opinion, Che has not only represented a revolutionary ideal, but people's attitude towards Che reflects the diversity of their values and emotions. Young people in different countries may have different values, but they all use Che as an idol they worship and imitate, so as to enrich their spiritual world.
First, let’s talk about Chi’s trend of thought and its main values. Che's trend of thought became popular in the 1960s and gave birth to a wealth of content. It had a profound impact on the national liberation and communist movements in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The theoretical basis of this trend of thought is quasi-ism. The Che Doctrine is a systematic set of theories about the revolutionary movement in Latin America. We can see from the film that it not only has Che's own thoughts, but also the thoughts and theories of Castro, Debray, and others. It mainly includes socialist revolution theory, continental revolution theory, guerrilla center theory, revolution export theory, and so on. They believe that after the victory of the Cuban Revolution, the contradictions between the American imperialists, the big estate owners, the big bourgeoisie, and the Latin American people have become more acute, and the conditions for anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist forces have been ripe, making Latin America a second world war that transcends national borders.
However, because the enemy's strength is strong, it is difficult for a single country to win the revolution, and the people's strength should be used to unite. Latin American countries have commonalities in language, culture, and class, which determine that the continental revolution will break out at the same time. The method of revolution is armed uprising, carrying out guerrilla warfare in the countryside and by expanding political influence, attracting more people to join the guerrillas, until victory is won across the country. It can be seen that this point is more similar to the fact that political power emerges from the barrel of a gun in our country, and the countryside surrounds the city. It can be said that Chitism promoted the development of the Latin American revolution to a certain extent, but it also produced a miscalculation of the revolutionary situation and stage. In particular, the so-called guerrilla centers do not trust the masses, are separate from the masses, and without the leadership of the party, such guerrillas cannot succeed.
Che's ethical values are the most important content in the ideological trend, running through the main vein of his entire thought and supporting his revolutionary ideals and actions. As Castro said in the movie, the greatest thing in his life is his moral values and consciousness. The humanitarian spirit is the core and soul of its thought. After studying "Das Kapital," he pointed out that Marx's theory emphasizes the humanistic thought of human emancipation based on human beings and has a lofty aspiration and a thorough revolutionary spirit to completely liberate the oppressed people. He said. "There must be a blazing humanitarianism, a sense of justice, and a belief in the truth." It can be said that this humanitarianism is perfectly interpreted by the idealistic spirit and actions of the revolutionary spirit. The spirit of dedicating everything to the ideal and the noble moral sentiment are the most shining charms in the body.
He belonged to the wealthy class and graduated from medical school in his 20s, but after traveling the American continent and witnessing the plight of the Latin American people, he was resolutely determined to dedicate everything to "our America" and the cause of liberation. He is a great doer with multi-faceted talents who is closely connected with the grassroots and goes deep into them to implement the policies of the party and the state. He works voluntarily at the construction site with ordinary people. He gave up his high-ranking positions in Cuba, went to other countries to carry out armed revolutionary struggles, and took the lead in charging to the front. Castro said he was one of the greatest, most special, and most selfless people.
Next, I will talk about the far-reaching influence of ideological trends on young people and the significance of the times. Che's death shocked the youth of the 1960s and 1970s. At that time, it was the golden age of Western economic take-off, which gave birth to the so-called "Beat Generation", and Qi became synonymous with idealism. Youth activists commemorate him in various ways. Latin American students regard him as a national hero, and student movements around the world use him as a banner. With the development of globalization, his influence has penetrated deeper into third world countries and has become a global spiritual icon. He is also no stranger to Chinese youth. He visited China twice to learn from the revolutionary experience, and admired Mao Zedong very much, openly saying that Mao Zedong's thoughts were the source of his guerrilla warfare theory.
His evaluation in China has changed from derogation to praise, but his name and ideas are widely circulated. Nowadays, young people love to cut, not necessarily because they have an in-depth understanding of their ideas, but may just think it is cool. It exists as an unconventional, rebellious, and sincere cultural symbol. Che's image appears in plays, songs, on T-shirts, lighters, and posters. He not only represents a revolutionary ideal but has become a fashion symbol, integrated into Chinese popular art and culture. This reflects the coexistence of today's youth's ideological diversification and adherence to mainstream values. The most important thing is that Che fought for his own beliefs and sacrificed himself for the fairness and justice of the majority. This romantic spirit and revolutionary action made Chinese young people regard Che as a real idealist and revolutionary. It can be said that he is a symbol of the noble spirit and can be forever in the heart as an extraordinary example. What he said still inspires young people to act on their ideals.
So, how should we Chinese youth deal with this thought trend and use it to lead and guide our ideals and values? In a word, criticize inheritance. First of all, we should establish lofty ideals and continuously improve our spiritual realm. Ideals play the role of value guidance and spiritual power in real life. Achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the social ideal of our country at this stage. Contemporary Chinese youth are the bearers of this historical responsibility. They should strive to exert their own initiative and creativity, take lofty ideals as their spiritual motivation, and implement them in their lives and work. Che's thoughts and actions reflect a moral ideal of sainthood, which is in line with the social justice and human freedom and liberation advocated by Marxism, and we can learn a lot from it. Secondly, we must be down-to-earth, make the ideal possible to realize, and avoid blind action and fantasy.
The realization of personal ideals is based on specific social and historical conditions. We must move away from merely pursuing the realization of personal values and instead base ourselves on the historical needs of realizing national rejuvenation. There are irrational and romantic elements in Che's thoughts and actions, subjectivizing personal ideals, divorced from reality, and difficult to realize. This is also one of the important reasons for his failure after he left Cuba. Therefore, young people should fully consider the connection between their personal ideals and their own conditions and the real environment, otherwise ideals will also become illusions.
Finally, we are in the era of consumerism, and we must continue to enrich the spiritual world and avoid deviations in values. At the moment when the market economy is prosperous, the great abundance of materials has given birth to such evils as hedonism and money worship. The image of a cut has become a symbol of consumption. Many young people don't understand their experiences and thoughts; they just think it's cool and fashionable. This kind of consumerism makes people's minds more and more empty, and it is easy to lose themselves and become vassals of material desires.
In general, at a time when people's cultural lives are prosperous and their value orientations are diversified, the cancer of vulgarism and consumerism is growing day by day. Liberal ideology and foreign forces are eroding our country all the time, which makes many people's values seriously distorted. Society is also flooded with some evil spirits, and various magical events during the epidemic are enough to expose this. While pursuing rapid economic development, the moral ideals that are indispensable in the development of human society are ignored. Under such social conditions, the ideals and values represented by Che can exist and develop. Calling for the return of the spirit of Che is of great significance. Che is a well-deserved spokesperson for idealism. His thoughts are the precious wealth of human progress. They can bring positive energy to the vast number of Chinese young people, greatly promote the construction and progress of spiritual civilization, and make them part of the excellent socialist culture.
