Misunderstand

Let me tell you one of my favorite episodes. The migrant workers collected debts from the boss and wanted to threaten the boss, so they cut their skin with a knife. But the effect is not terrifying at all, the director did not match the tragic background music, there were no passers-by screaming and screaming to set the atmosphere, and even if the knife was cut, it would not bleed immediately, and the blood would slowly flow down from the wound after two seconds... ...very clumsy. Reminds me of the same trick used by Doctor Wang in "Tuina" when facing the underworld to collect debts.

The movie is full of dark humor, and this is one of them.

"I Want My Vengeance" is made up of a series of coincidences, like a chain of car accidents, where one car crashes into another after being rear-ended, and the occurrence of one tragedy leads to the next:

Ryu is a deaf-mute young man who works diligently to earn money. He wants to replace a kidney for his sister who has uremia, but he is fired; . His girlfriend persuaded him to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy boss to pay for the surgery, but his sister cut her wrists because she didn't want to be a burden on her brother, and the kidnapped child drowned while burying her sister. The child called for help in the water, but the deaf young man did not hear it. In order to avenge the child, the rich boss killed the deaf young man and his girlfriend, and he was also killed by the terrorist organization to which the young girlfriend belonged.

The movie reminds me of a play by Camus called "Misunderstanding":

The eldest son, who has been away from home for many years, suddenly returns to his hometown, trying to find his mother and sister. In order to create some surprises and surprises, he did not explain his purpose. However, the mother and sister have long been in despair in their long lonely lives, and they just want to go to another country after making money and killing the guests who come to the hotel. Then tragedy happened, the mother did not recognize the son, the sister did not recognize the brother. After the truth came out, her mother threw herself into the river in grief, and her sister committed suicide.

Even the mother didn't recognize her son because she had already seen this stranger as her target:

"I didn't look at him carefully. From my experience, it's better not to look at them. It's easier to kill people you don't know."

Camus was obsessed with this story, and he also mentioned this case in "The Outsider", and commented: "In any case, I think this shopkeeper is a bit to blame." I believe that if Camus watched "I Want Vengeance", Probably will also say to the deaf young Ryu: I think you are a bit to blame.

After all, as long as he doesn't kidnap the child, it seems that all subsequent tragedies will not happen. In other words, there will not be so many tragedies.

I can barely understand this kind of argument. What I can't understand is that some viewers said: "Sister, dear Virgin, if she didn't kill herself, things wouldn't be where they are today."

I was so pissed off. I think the most annoying thing about people living in this world is not cold-blooded, but self-righteousness. How can you think that your kindness is the real kindness?

The scene that left the deepest impression on me in this movie is that after Song Kanghao's bereaved father finds Ryu, what appears on his face is not the pleasure of an eye for an eye, nor the relief of revenge, but the confusion. He looked so pitiful, so lost...he said this to the shivering Ryu:

"I know you're a good man, but I have to kill you..."

Why would he say that? It's true that Ryu didn't kill the little girl on purpose, it was his deafness that caused the tragedy. But Song was not there at the time. Under the mourning of the bereaved daughter, how exactly did Song understand all this? Was it because of the unfamiliar bond between the two poor people? This can also be found in "Misunderstanding". "Misunderstanding" has a question that is easily overlooked: why did my sister commit suicide? We would take it for granted that this was a decisive move triggered by the death of my brother and mother. But in the play, the younger sister has a monologue before her death. From the monologue, we can learn that: the elder brother left home since he was a child, and the younger sister has very weak feelings for him; while the mother prioritizes sons over daughters, the younger sister's attitude towards her death is "she will die when she dies. Die, I haven't gotten a mother's love anyway!"

Suicide is a result of despairing of the world and finding that life has no meaning. People need answers to live, they need responses. Who killed his daughter? Who should I take revenge on? Song has no choice but to kill Ryu. And even if my sister goes to a foreign country after all this, what can she do? Will her life get any better? She has nothing else to do but die.

Before deciding to die, my sister said: I hate this world, because here we can only submit to God. But I, being treated unjustly, I will never kneel. On this earth, I have been deprived of my place of existence, and now abandoned by my mother, I am alone in sin, and I leave this world without seeking redemption.

She didn't want to be reunited with her mother and brother underground, she wanted to die alone.

There is a story devoted to the despair of mankind. The story goes like this:

A devil was sealed in a bottle, and in a long time of loneliness, he made a promise: If someone came to save me, I would give him the wealth of the world. One hundred years later, the devil was not saved, so he changed his promise to: If someone saves me, I will grant his three wishes. After another hundred years, the devil is still unattended, and finally he made up his mind: no matter who comes to save me, I will kill him!

Unfortunately, most people have to wait until the 300th century. Even after 300 years, no one will come to save... I disappeared from this world first.
