pattern

The first word that came up after watching "Knight" was pattern. Compared with the peers of the same age at home, the biggest difference lies in the pattern - about movies, about life. The inspirational stories of western cowboys can easily attract people to get involved, but for the audience, the expected pictures of meticulously showing off horses and people are far less touching than the scenes of Breno getting along with his sister, father, and buddies. If Zhao Ting was given ten or a hundred times the dollar, she might be able to shoot the Australian film "The Man Who Came Up from the Snowy River" many years ago.

Only if you have lived in the local area and fully understand the characteristics of the actors can you make such a film. The most prominent photography is delicate, delicate but not empty, capturing many tangible details: fists clenched and hard to release, sister Lily's singing, paralyzed old friends watching videos of bullfights in the past...and the camera is always with Respectful, a little bit deep into the boy's heart. The ending is not as tragic as "The Wrestling King". I remember what Jia Zhangke said, "It is harder to give up an ideal than to stick to it." This cross-ethnic narrative foundation demonstrates the ability of a true filmmaker to empathize with the existential plight of all human beings.

The narrative is so weak, so the first 80 minutes were boring, and the last sensational feeling was too vulgar to me. After reading it, I feel that there is not enough sympathy for the protagonist to form a resonance. The view is beautiful.

The Rider quotes

  • Brady Blackburn: If any animal around here got hurt like I did, they'd have to be put down

  • Brady Blackburn: You know, Lilly, I believe God gives each of us a purpose.

    Lilly Blackburn: Very true.

Brady Blackburn: To the horse, it's to run across the prairie. For a cowboy, it's to ride.
