History has no losers

After watching this movie, the biggest feeling for me is that when I walked out of the movie hall, I looked at the light bulbs inside and outside the house that I usually don't care too much about, and the flashing light inside, and my heart was filled with respect all of a sudden! As Edison said in the film, the world changed because of this!

As a power company worker, I have been looking forward to this movie that tells the story of the originator of the power company! I think in such a brilliant and talented era, these geniuses have their own unique beliefs and spirits, and have their own unique talents in their own fields. Their confrontation must be very exciting! So this time I want to talk more about this history in the movie.

The film mainly tells that after Edison invented the electric light bulb, he hoped to use direct current to build the electric energy network in the United States, not only for electric light, but also for other electric equipment, because he believed that alternating current was not safe with direct current; while Westinghouse always believed that the price of alternating current Cheaper and more efficient are the keys to the long-term development of the power grid…

The commercialized power battle between the two is a story that is talked about in the history of electric power development and even in the history of world business. In the end, Westinghouse and the young genius Nikola Tesla used alternating current to defeat bringing light to the world. Edison! But history has no losers. Although we have used alternating current until now, when we see the light bulb, we think of Edison!

After the "War of Electricity" ended, Edison turned to the research that combined his invention of the phonograph and the photography technology that had just come out, and then invented thousands of inventions such as movie cameras and improved batteries; Tesla introduced high-voltage alternating current into the U.S. power transmission system, which is the originator of the modern power transmission system. As for Tesla, although he was poor all his life, he has been devoted to the research in the field of electromagnetism. He is the originator of radio technology, including X-ray, Fax machines, radios, etc. have far-reaching influence. Now we can see cars named after him everywhere on the road to commemorate his glory!

It is a pity that, from a movie point of view, this film does not show the spark of collision between these characters very well. At least I personally feel that the performance of the characters is uneven, and the rhythm of the film is not very good. So excellent, apart from the vivid sense of the picture and the fun of the real history itself, I did not feel the extra highlights given to the film by the director or screenwriter. For those who do not know this history or are not interested, it may be more difficult to watch. Hard! Watching Edison talk to his secretary, it's like Doctor Strange with Peter Parker... The depth of the characters is still lacking, and the linear progression of the story is a bit confusing.

The biggest gain of this film is to bring us back to those legendary years, to review these geniuses again, to review the initial time of this power company, and let us understand the power transmission that we are accustomed to now and the initial development history of the power grid company!
