Interpretation of rewind

After reading some interpretations, the understanding of rewinding is saying that it is to break the fourth wall, and the audience can press pause to avoid violence.

In my opinion, Rewind is a reversal of this movie.

The story was all told before. Then suddenly there was an absurd, surreal plot like "Rewind". It was very abrupt.

I think this is precisely because the author did not shoot the surreal plot before, but revealed it at the end.

It can be assumed that the duo actually committed the murder at the beginning and didn't get the female lead's mobile phone into the water. As a result, the police were successfully arrested, and then they rewinded the tape. Only then did the first scene borrow the egg to get the phone into the water for the second time.

The director deliberately did not shoot it: because of the failure of various murders, the end of the rewind was pressed. So the previous plot looks like a realistic house invasion.

The reason for the rewind was explained by various coincidences: the mobile phone, the heroine escaped but was caught back by coincidence, etc. The reason why the duo had the existence of the rewind plug-in was that they killed the child and left with peace of mind (Normal gangsters don’t leave a lot of free space and time to escape and report to the police.) The evidence is also some lines of the duo’s well-thought-out lines. And at the end, they went to another house without investigating at all, and when they didn’t know the family situation, Just knock on the door and borrow an egg.

So the rewind is the finishing touch to reveal that the duo has a plug-in to have nothing to fear.

A little insight. Discussion welcome.

  • Paul: So, what do you want to do? You want to call someone? An ambulance, or the police? I won't stop you. Neither will Tom. Right, Tom? Well, what are you waiting for?

  • Paul: Okay, let's play another game. It's a guessing game.

[Paul takes out a golf ball]

    Paul: What is this?

[Paul drops the ball on the floor]

    Paul: [to George] Sir?

    George: It's a golf ball.

Paul: Correct! It's a *golf* ball... But why do I have it in my pocket? Hm? The lady knows why. Because... Well?

    [Paul, exasperated, turns to Peter]

    Paul: Well?

Peter: Because you didn't hit it.

Paul: Correct! Because I didn't hit it! And *why* didn't I hit it?

    Peter: Because something stopped you.

Paul: Correct. Because I had to test the club in another way.

Anna: [realizing what has happened] Where is he?
