Sincere and touching emotional drama

Watching this movie really wouldn't think that this is actually an American movie, although the background of the story is in the United States.

First of all, in terms of rhythm, the movie is generally presented in fragments. Where the plot is strongly related, like the first half of the plot, the rhythm will be relatively tight, but the second half of the protagonist begins with a large paragraph. When the silence is used to express the inner entanglement, the overall rhythm appears looser. It's a bit like when the action of the villain in the page-turning animation is too different, there is a sense of disconnection.

This kind of fragment reminds me of "Evil in the East and West Poison", but the blank part is not as large as "Evil in the East and West Poison". The overall performance of the plot is still relatively weak.

But the most brilliant emotional scene in the movie is still quite moving, and the three protagonists all gave their sincere feelings in their youth.

Esther didn't know what the right decision was, and fell into hesitation. Ellie's letter was like an unexpected signal, and she stumbling and stumbling made her clear what she needed.

As a Chinese, Ellie was discriminated against in school. Her father was devastated by the death of her mother. She needed to support her and her father's life, and she did not dare to leave her father to go to college. This point I find resonance with Gu Fei in "The Wilderness". Many lives cannot be escaped by hard work. The more responsible people are, the more burdensome they may move forward.

Ellie has always had an ignorant awareness of her sexuality, and has a hazy affection for Esther. The intrusion of the silly big Paul forced her to face her own feelings. At the same time, she was also moved by Paul's honesty and honesty. Although she could not fall in love, as a close friend, she would still secretly contribute to Paul's sausages. When Paul realized Ellie's sexuality, although he said "You are going to the hell." He might be a little angry that he was deceived, but he was more worried about her. After that, Paul will still care about Ellie's father, and when Ellie goes to college, there is no more resentment, and finally she can't help chasing a train. What a lovely and courageous boy!

What I have never understood is why some couples hate each other so much when they break up? The past love is like a bubble, and if my heart is broken, I have to pull the other person to hell together. How can you be willing?

Love is never about finding your lost other half, everyone is already an independent individual. It's a process of finding happiness and self, and so is friendship. It is our luck if we encounter it, and it is not a pity that it cannot be consummated. How can we be like Ellie's father who neglected to care for his daughter because he lost a lover - giving up an entire forest for one of those intimacy?

I certified lala nerd love to write emails and letters. It's such a youthful and cute movie. You need your director Wu to pull the film.

People still shed tears for other people's youth in middle age.

The Half of It quotes

  • Ellie Chu: I'm Ellie Chu.

Aster Flores: Yes, I know. You've only been playing my dad's services every Sunday for, like, four years. You're his favorite heathen. He can't handle mediocre accompanists, even if they ARE saved.

  • Ellie Chu: The good thing about being different is that no one expects you to be like them.
