The film "Matilda" tells the story of the little girl Matilda who has superhuman wisdom since she was born, but her lack of responsibility and ignorant parents have always regarded her as an outlier and sent her to a highly regulated school. In the school, Matilda witnessed the evil deeds of the evil-hearted principal. Fortunately, she met a beautiful and kind teacher who brought hope and warmth to Matilda's life. In the end, Matilda defeated the principal using wisdom and her own superpowers. The teacher adopted Matilda and they lived happily together.

At first I saw this film as a children's movie, trying to see it as a fairy tale-the protagonist defeated the evil forces and finally lived a happy life with the person I liked. Throughout the film, the overall framework of the story is also in line with the setting of classic fairy tales, with an extremely imaginative and absurd plot, a delightful climax paragraph, and a just and happy ending. I can almost conclude that it is a fairy tale! But when I saw 98%, I started to think, is it the fairy tale in my heart?

Matilda did not want to move away with her parents. She said that there was an adoption agreement in her schoolbag. The teacher proposed to adopt her. The parents understood and agreed to sign her. The whole process was smooth and easy, not heavy or even a little joking. After being adopted, Matil Da is like a bird out of the cage. At this time, I don’t think it is like a fairy tale anymore, or she is not like the fairy tale I understood when I was a child. It is not a typical "Oriental fairy tale", and it is not shrouded in a "native family". In the shadows. More like a history of struggle by a person, Matilda’s character setting is a child who is extremely intelligent and inspires her own superpowers. She can distinguish good from evil and judge likes and evils. She was very young. It solves the problems that some people are difficult to solve, and becomes the winner of life happily.

From my perspective, the film is more like an adult fairy tale. But I think what the film really wants to convey is the ultimate personal romance and heroism, just fairy tales. Matilda, who is quirky and full of sense of justice, defeated the "monsters and ghosts" in life, starting from the needs of people's own soul and emotion, completing a control of interpersonal communication and self-life.

  • Agatha Trunchbull: [pointing her riding crop at Amanda] Can you spell?

Amanda Thripp: Miss Honey taught us how to spell a long word yesterday. We can spell "difficulty".

Agatha Trunchbull: You couldn't spell "difficulty" if your life depended on it.

Amanda Thripp: She taught us with a poem.

Agatha Trunchbull: [mimicking Amanda with a high-pitched tone] A poem? How sweet. What poem would that be?

Amanda Thripp: Mrs. D, Mrs. I...

[everyone in the room except Miss Trunchbull and Miss Honey join in]

Amanda Thripp: [chanting with the rest of the class] Mrs. F-F-I. Mrs. C, Mrs. U, Mrs. L-T-Y!

Agatha Trunchbull: [strikes a desktop with her riding crop and all the children instantly face forward] WHY ARE ALL THESE WOMEN MARRIED?

    [moves between the desks]

Agatha Trunchbull: Mrs. D? Mrs. I? You're supposed to be teaching SPELLING, not poetry!

[whacks the desk again with her riding crop]
