War? Survival?

I was surprised that I would come up with such a serious proposition. But just like this proposition, peeling off this serious coat, Empire of the Sun is a story that makes people feel cold or warm after reading it.

I like this title Jamie's boy. At the beginning of man, his nature is evil.
The old beggar who knocks on the rice bowl in front of his house, the model of the plane in his room, the housekeeper who moves things out, the street gangster who grabs shoes, the American who feeds him. .....

those are lovely details.

A rice bowl snatched from a dead man for potatoes, or new shoes.
Left behind
. A Japanese boy who also likes planes.
Surviving in a concentration camp.
Learning from a doctor Language.
Getting leather shoes from the dead.
Laughing and kneeling. Seeing
off the departure plane.
Migration.

Three details I like:

I surrender.
We are all friends, and it is the fault of the war.
song that appears.

If Lao Si made this film to reflect the cruelty of the anti-Japanese war from the side, it cannot be said to be a success. The handling of Lao Si in many places can easily lead to a specious illusion, especially the Chinese. If the film is just to talk about the growth of a boy, it is extremely successful. The boy gradually changed in a war that did not belong to him, the realization and disillusionment of his dreams, and the sense of powerlessness, all appeared shallow or deep. However, the compromise made by the old man in the ending is hard to remember.

I should have seen it in 2008. A film with more significance than effect. Although Spielberg's shooting skills are beyond doubt, it is obvious that the effect serves the theme. But it's not bad to have such a war scene in 1987. The title of the film is a bit pro-Japanese, but it is actually a reflection on war and human nature.
