Read it again. Compared with the drowsy when I watched it for the first time, I woke up a lot the second time. Because of the first experience, or because the temperature today is really not very warm, I didn't even yawn. Completely finished watching this movie.
The story is not complicated, Sid is an assistant editor of a photography magazine, sitting outside the scope of work every day, from time to time to buy takeout for his boss.
One day she meets her neighbors, the reclusive photographer Lucy, and her perpetually sleepy girlfriend Greta. Greta is a former actress. She moved from Germany to live in the United States for Lucy. She loves Lucy, but she also feels that she has sacrificed a lot for Lucy from time to time. A lot of times love is like this, no matter how much we love each other, we all forget ourselves. Maybe this expression is not intentional, but subconsciously, we want our lover to know what I am willing to do for you. It's just that this kind of effort will put pressure on the other party, which is another matter.
Sid is captivated by Lucy's photos, only to discover that the neighbor turns out to be a talented photographer who went into recluse more than a decade ago. Lucy gave up her career for unknown reasons and became addicted to drugs. Sid tries to understand Lucy's life by attending their parties, drinking and chatting with them, and even taking drugs. Lucy and Sid are drawn to each other rather than curiosity or the pursuit of art.
Lucy was moved by Sid's perseverance and enthusiasm. In this young girl, Lucy saw her own shadow and some of the things she gave up. At the same time, Lucy was attracted by Sid's unique sexy and innocent appeal, and she agreed to shoot the cover of Sid's magazine. The two fall in love, and the sensitive Greta discovers this and commits suicide at a party.
Photos are still on schedule. Lucy took two pictures of Sid, one with Greta and one with Sid. Lucy wants Sid to use her own photo, but Sid feels suspicious of betraying Hue. So I took the picture of Greta to the boss, and the boss was furious and announced a substitution. Sid took out his photo out of frustration.
For Lucy, her photos can only be of people she loves, and such work is mature, perfect, and full of passion. Because she has her in her eyes, in these loving works, Sid is extraordinarily beautiful under the camera.
Lucy eventually decides to break up with Greta and then rehab to be with Sid, but she has to make it clear to Greta that it's not an easy thing for her, and it bothers her, as well as her drug use problem. As Lucy said to her mom: I have a love problem, and a drug problem. Or, a love trouble, and a drug problem, I don't know.
Like all lovers, Sid begins to plan their future. But Lucy relented in Greta's tears, promised to accompany her for the last night, and then died of drug addiction.
When I just watched this movie, I was a little disappointed by the appearance of the heroine, but watching and watching me start to adjust my mind, the world is not full of handsome men and women.
I don't really like the German woman named Greta who never wakes up in the whole movie, and her slurred voice. She is the main reason I look sleepy. As Lucy's mother said in the movie: In my time, my mother would never allow me to fall in love with women, especially Germans.
Sid is not the usual beauty line in LES movies in the usual sense. With the development of the plot, Sid's charm begins to show. And Lucy, I like Lucy so much, this woman is really stylish. Although she looks rough and skinny, I must say, she is really sexy.
I'm glad the film's final director didn't force us to visit Lucy's posthumous death, which would have been too emotional for me to lose its original flavor.
This film was made in 1998, I don't know how I would feel if I saw this film for the first time in 1998. At that time, I was too young to understand such same-sex feelings and this decadent artistic expression.
