Movies adapted from true stories are often more engaging and moving when watching. This film moved me. The two scenes that made me cry the most were Tim shaving John's head, and Tim and the lightning-skinned John looking at each other affectionately.
There is no need to easily conduct a moral judgment on the individual's life exploration and the "accidents" encountered because of it. Without this experience, how can they profoundly affirm that the other person is the love of life? How complex are people's thoughts, feelings, and desires, how can the label of "scumbag" simply summarize a person with flesh and blood and true feelings.
Praise for John's actor who is very thin in the second half. He is very dedicated and professional, and it makes people feel distressed and moving. He does look a lot like the real John himself.
The fly in the ointment is that the makeup and demeanor in middle school were not in place, and it was a bit of a drama.
