Sing street, I don't know why it was translated as the love song of first love. I almost missed the movie because of the name.
Sing street, is the name of a band. A band formed by a boy to please Miss and Sister, bragging about it but really giving his whole heart. This is a story that starts with Little Lies, but it's not a love story, it's a story about youth and dreams, about growing up.
The establishment of this band is as if a boulder suddenly fell from the plain stagnant water, and ripples appeared in circles. The ripples may dissipate in the next second, or new living waters may be introduced, and the world will never be the same.
Hot-blooded youth, never turning back, is always exciting. Get up again after falling down again and again, and choose a path that is not safe and proper but self-identified. Just do it, don't think about it. Not so much why, just liked it, so I did it. Perhaps it is this kind of love and courage that is particularly touching. It also reminds you that they are always there, just waiting to be unsealed and rekindled.
Life is unavoidable ups and downs, happy and sad. Music is not an antidote, but good enough, and good can resist darkness. It's also a nice movie.
