Annabelle 1: Not really scary

I have seen "Annabelle 2" and "The Conjuring 1" before, which seems to have opened the door to a new world. Compared with the above two works, "Annabelle 1" is no longer very scary.

The plot is completely a line, and there is nothing to say. The most puzzling thing in the plot is that even though the doll has moved to a new house and the old doll has been thrown away, it still appears in the last box. This difference before and after: I said that the doll was weird before, but after such a big thing happened, the doll was left behind? My understanding is that the heroine selectively forgot the details about the murder and felt that since she had moved, it would not happen again, so she kept the doll.

There are many descriptions of "mother" in the movie. The priest always says that mother is sacred and mother's love is great. Comparing the demons to steal the souls of vulnerable people, the last paragraph is that the demons use the souls of children as threats. It is not difficult to come to the conclusion that mothers are indeed holy and maternal love is great, but their weakness is children. In fact, from the discussion about "protecting the big and the small" when the protagonist was preparing for pregnancy, it is not difficult to understand that a mother's love for her child can already make her give up her life.

As for the scary part, I think the most scary part is the elevator. The classic hoarse cry of babies, scratches of demons, elevator doors that can't be closed, dark stairwells, similar scenes are often encountered in life, adding a terrifying atmosphere to life. In this section, the protagonist visits the crying baby out of motherhood, but is scratched by the devil, which also implies that motherhood will haunt the protagonist's demons.

There is a paragraph in the back, the child is sitting on the ground, the book falls from the bookshelf, and there is a classic crevice killing again. Annabelle who suddenly appeared from the crack of the door is exactly the same as Annabelle under the bed in "Ann 2".

Annabelle is watching you under the bed

In the last paragraph, the black lady gave her soul and life in exchange for the soul and life of the protagonist. It always felt like the black lady was forced to die in order to end the movie. Presumably the death of the black lady's daughter made her feel that life was meaningless, so she took this opportunity to benefit another person who was tortured by demons, so that the tragedy would not repeat itself. That's reasonable.

Is it scary? I think it is like some kind of urban legend or supernatural phenomenon research movie. The horror section itself is not like the roller coaster in "An 2". In the wheelchair, being pushed by the demon nun and thrown into the utility room at once). It's more from the irrationality, and the sudden action of the ghost, like popcorn on fire, watching that popcorn bag get bigger and bigger, and then catch fire. Where is the horror here? Maybe the ghost dragged the female protagonist who was crawling at the back, and it was gone. Is it scary? I really don't know where the horror is.

In short, it's not a very scary film, the curiosity and supernatural phenomena are greater than the horror
