The film tells the love story between a fugitive who escaped from prison and a single mother. A single mother has a son, she has custody of his son, and the son eats one meal a week with the biological father's family, even if the child does not want to go each time. One day they went shopping at the supermarket together, when a single mother still had a disease (perhaps a habit) of not going out because she had suffered numerous miscarriages and was unable to have children again. She may be afraid of seeing someone else's belly belly when she is pregnant or the way she looks when she is happily snuggling up to her husband, but it is because of this trip that her life has changed.
The fugitives "hijacked" their mother and son, saying they wanted to spend the night at their house, and then fled the next day. To say it was a hijacking was actually a guest visit. He didn't hurt them in the slightest, and helped them repair their cars, bathrooms, and other things that a man should handle at home. Single women's desire for love and bodies is also evident. There is a spark between single mothers and fugitives. They dance together, teach the children of mentally handicapped neighbors to play together, and they fall in love. The promised day turned into 3 days and then longer.
It was Labor Day, and the peaches from the neighbors were about to go bad, so the fugitives taught them how to make pies. The touch between hand and hand, the contact between eyes is the beginning of witnessing everything. The mother planned to escape with him, and the son gradually felt that he was not valued, and the suspicion among the neighbors eventually led to the arrest of the fugitive, but this was not the end.
The ending is beautiful. The fugitives did not contact their mother and son after being imprisoned again, but asked the child when he was about to be released from prison, is your mother still single? I still remember her. His mother has also been waiting for him, just as his biological father described his ex-wife: "She is the best person in the world. She can love bravely and desperately, but child, I just want to live an ordinary life." The mother really waited for 15 years for love. The fugitive once made a mistake because of a miss, and should not be punished for a lifetime. But think about it in our great country, is this really not going to be locked up forever? Or will you die without even having a chance to be locked up? But there must be a lot of people who are really willing to wait. I firmly believe that no matter where the great love is, it will take root, blossom, and bear fruit.
The kid became a real man because he learned to play ball, change tires. Because of his expectations, the mother has the joy of waiting and good memories. The three-day festival is short, and as I mentioned before, very wonderful things can happen in the short period of time, such as human feelings and yearning for a better future.
