"After Zero"
In 2006, a photography team started tracking more than a dozen millennial-born children in a kindergarten. Among them, there is an impressive child named Yiyi.
The three-year-old Yiyi is a very precocious, precocious, speculative, and quiet child.
Yiyi likes being alone very much, eats, sleeps and plays alone, doesn't like to play with children, just wants to be alone.
The kindergarten teacher asked her, "Other children have good friends, why don't you need them?"
She answered the teacher calmly: "Everyone has their own choice, it's my right."
shadow of iceberg
Finnish director Antti Spann was able to find a box of 8mm film at a flea market, and then he found it was a film left over from a lifetime of traveling around the world. Then the director spent 5 years getting to know the original owner of the box of film, Oiva.
This last century man named Oiva experienced the chasm of war and the tsunami of history. After the war, he lived with his mother and sister. At the age of 42, the force of fate pushed him onto the ship, and he began to travel around the world with a camera.
Everywhere he goes, he sends postcards to his mother and sister. When people ask him why he doesn't get married, he says he already has two wonderful women in the family.
Mother under the lens of Oiva
He has been to the Great Wall of China and the end of the world. Under his lens, there are women, children, icebergs, waves, pyramids, and the Taj Mahal. Later, when his mother and sister died, he sent a postcard to himself with the signature: Me!
The director found the manuscript four months before his death in the attic of his home, where he was learning about the universe, wormholes, and time travel. He was too old to be in time, or he would have gone to the moon to see.
After Oiva died, the inheritance was left to her aunt in the United States, who hadn't seen each other for more than 20 years. And his relic, the film that condensed his life, was sold to the flea market.
However, the film was found and bought by the director fatefully, and it was fatefully laid out in front of us.
"Even though you never met the right person, you found what you were after in this life."
meet at the end of the world
In the frozen world of Antarctica, there is a group of people standing at the end of the world, where professional dreamers from all over the world gather - bankers drive buses, philosophers dig earth machines, doctoral students grow vegetables, biologists drive rock concert……
Werner Herzog was the screenwriter, director and narrator of this documentary. The photography team went to places where humans camped in Antarctica, such as seal bases and diving camps, and met many interesting people along the way.
Scott Rowland of the Department of Transportation, who opened a bank in Colorado before coming to Antarctica, decided to go to Guatemala to make a little life change. One day Scott was walking when he saw six men coming to cut him with knives. It turned out that someone told them that this guy was going to steal children. They took him back to trial, the judge and the jury was a 14-year-old kid because he was the only kid who could speak Spanish, and the judge finally acquitted him and he came here later.
Brave female traveler Karen Joyce, who drove a garbage truck across Africa in the 1980s, endured malaria, ran into a herd of angry elephants chasing her, and ran past tsetse flies Swamp; she's also been in a civil war, and she's also been stuck in a bombed-out airport for one night, ended up being rescued by drunken Russian pilots on a cratered runway amid an exchange of insurgents arguing in a bar On the run, and finally, she came here.
Mechanic Lipo Qiha was a warrior during the Iron Curtain before he escaped. Hunger is best described as a loaf of bread, and freedom is best described as seeing freedom in front of your eyes, and Libo has a well-appointed canvas bag ready to go.
In the penguin colony, there are all kinds of penguins, gay penguins, female penguins who go to mate with male penguins to get stones (does this remind you of some humans).
In Antarctica, penguins have to migrate to the sea every spring. One penguin neither returns to the habitat nor moves to the edge of the glacier to feed, but resolutely walks towards the mountains, which are 70 kilometers away. Scientists say that even if it is brought back to its habitat, it will immediately turn its head and head towards the inland.
The protagonists of all three films are completely unrelated people, but I was very impressed by their unique personalities.
I like loneliness very much at a young age. Oiva, who has been condensed in a box of film all his life, the scientists who are chasing their dreams in Antarctica, to a certain extent, they are all like the one who ran towards the mountains in "Meet at the End of the World". Penguin. They are the engravers of time, lonely travelers. And their existence may be because the night needs more of the same kind to decorate the afterglow of the setting sun.
