After watching an entire season of Watchmen, there are two things worth noting. The first is that last year's show predicted the black movement in America. From the common man to the president, all white people apologize for the oppression of black people. The play further predicts the counterattack of the white conservative forces. Once this prediction is established, the United States will look good. The second is that the pharaoh's strategy to maintain world peace now appears to be problematic. In the play, the way the Pharaoh killed 3 million people in New York was changed. The film version used nuclear weapons with the characteristics of Dr. Manhattan, and the play version was changed to "Alien Big Octopus". But the unchanging core idea is that the pharaoh planned to portray a common enemy to mankind, and use fear to make all mankind put down hatred and unite and cooperate. But from the perspective of the new crown epidemic, this approach is not effective at all. Invisible and intangible, with great lethality, no specific medicine, and a threat to all mankind, the new coronavirus has indeed become the common enemy of mankind. But instead of letting human beings let go of hatred, it has become a tool of political struggle. The words that travel through the media are like bullets on the battlefield, bringing about a modern war that kills without blood. Maybe humans are more inclined to visual stimulation. Viruses are often heard and invisible at the same time, which is far less impactful than cosmic monsters. Even if the two wipe out the same number of lives, it cannot make people feel the same degree of fear.
