This is really a horror movie.

I've heard of this film a long time ago, but I don't know why I haven't watched it. I discussed the topic of horror film with my friends a few days ago. My friend recommended this film. If I didn't have anything to do today, I might have forgotten it.

Fortunately, I finally watched it.

First I looked at the short comment, and many people said it was rubbish, without logic or anything. Although this film hasn't reached the five-star level, it's not that bad, right?

First of all, it abandons the usual blood-blooded and broken head in European and American movies. Although it is not stingy with the use of plasma, it is really quite satisfactory in terms of visual impact.
The image of the devil only appeared twice. Once it was the face on the monitor screen, and the other time it was the bandaged man who was photographed by the black security lighter when the old lady was killed. Although the appearance of the old lady wearing cosmetic contact lenses was quite frightening at the end, it was much more pleasing to the eye than the distorted and rotten appearance of ordinary BOSS.

So in fact, this film mainly relies on the plot to catch people. The compact rhythm and suspenseful ups and downs of the story have become the attraction of this film.

Some people say that the elderly security guards and elevator repairmen died unjustly. Although the film did not clearly explain that they were dead, the situation seems very unoptimistic~! In fact, the title of the film has already explained that the demon in the elevator, the narrator also said, it will kill those innocent people who hinder it. In fact, we have watched a lot of horror movies. Whether it’s a Japanese horror movie with a lot of dead people or an American movie where zombies run away butchers and chop people, do the people who die there deserve it? Only horror movies. Dead talent is a selling point. If you are entangled in this, you might as well go to a comedy.

Someone said that the ending is educational, and it's boring to reason. First of all, this is the difference between Eastern and Western cultures, and this film has a strong religious flavor. For us, perhaps the old lady and the soldier are justified. But after reading the comments of some friends, it became clear. First of all, the word "Damn" that the devil said at the end is equivalent to cursing "X you uncle!" when we are angry, indicating that it is not the success of the devil's education. It doesn't take away the soldier's brother, but it can't take it away.

Why can't it?

I think as some friends with religious knowledge said, Western religions talk about rules. The devil tempts the evil side, the three who died have committed sins, and they obeyed their inner desires or escaped their past sins, without repentance. And God forgives people's sins, as long as you repent and atone for your sins, then you are God's child. The little brother finally confessed his crime and is willing to atone for it, then he is a child of God, and the devil cannot take him away.

In the film, when the security guard knelt on the ground and prayed for the people in the elevator, it really shocked me. This may be the power of faith. He wants to wash away the guilt of the people in the elevator, or what does he want them to realize in prayer? Uh, I don’t believe in Catholicism. It’s really hard for me to express my feelings.

Whether it’s ghosts and gods who kill people in the end, it doesn’t matter if there are innocent people in the middle who die in vain. After all, this is really a horror movie. Therefore, those who believe in the existence of demons and are afraid also believe that God also exists.

Devil quotes

  • [last lines]

Ramirez: [voiceover] After my mother would finish her story, she would always comfort us. "Don't worry," she'd say. "If the Devil is real, then God must be real, too."

  • [first lines]

Ramirez: [voiceover] When I was a child, my mother would tell me a story about how the Devil roams the Earth. Sometimes, she said, he would take human form so he could punish the damned on Earth before claiming their souls. The ones he chose would be gathered together and tortured as he hid amongst them, pretending to be one of them. I always believed my mother was telling me an old wives' tale.
