A Guy who plays guitar and sings on the street, and a Girl who sells flowers in a crowd, because of music, their life paths meet. They don't need names, just a "Hi..." when they meet to say hello. But they have a common hobby - music.
One night, Girl was attracted by Guy's soulful singing, and put a few coins in Guy's money-filled guitar bag... and the story began.
Girl learned that Guy would repair a vacuum cleaner, so she agreed to bring it to Guy the next day. But Guy said the next day that it couldn't be repaired without tools, so the two went to a musical instrument store that Girl knew. Guy and Girl completed their first collaboration in front of a piano, and the resonance between the guitar and the piano penetrated the heart for the first time.
Guy is going to London to find the person he loves, but I don't know if there is any result, Guy's evaluation of her is "Fuck her" (a bit hate her). Girl is married and has a cute little girl. She came to Ireland from the Czech Republic with her child and lives in a group building.
Guy and Girl wanted to record an album, so they - also on the street - found three singers and formed a band. The tuner in the recording studio looked down on these stragglers at first, and casually read magazines while recording. However, beautiful music always attracts people, Guy's passionate and magnetic voice surprised the tuner, and the tuner's mouth filled with a smile.
On a hill, Guy and Girl are walking together, Girl expresses his love for Guy in Czech, but Guy doesn't understand. Soon, Guy is going to London, and he made an appointment with Girl to see him one last night, but Girl missed the appointment. Maybe it was because Girl suddenly felt that this was just a short encounter, or maybe it was because Girl didn't care about it at all, maybe there were other reasons...
At the last moment of departure, Guy came to the musical instrument store that Girl knew, Bought a piano for Girl and sent it to her house.
The song "Falling slowly" played by the two in the musical instrument store played again.
At the airport, Guy checked the ticket alone and waited quietly for the flight, his deep eye sockets were a little thoughtful.
At home, Girl is excited to receive the piano.
One second before boarding, Guy thought of how Girl received the piano, and smiled silently, as if he understood.
At home, Girl played a wonderful piano music again, and at this time, there was a man in her family, I think it was her Czech husband. After she received her husband's kiss, she looked out the window and seemed to be looking at Guy who was already at an altitude of 30,000 feet...
Sometimes, we always meet some people; sometimes, we always have to leave some people. Just like the title of the movie - "Once". It will come, it will stand in front of us, it will go away, and these are "before". After that, we will continue to meet, leave, meet, and leave...
We, all the time, on the road...
This is an "ordinary" movie, and the way it was shot made me feel like I was shooting alone with a DV. Its soundtrack is mostly street noise, aka no soundtrack. The protagonist's speech is also very ordinary - sometimes mixed with profanity, as well as Guy's colloquial "Brilliant", "Cool". And it is these ordinary things that make me feel that this is not a movie, this is a story that happened in real life, and I am a bystander, watching their experience carelessly, they also Just the "Once" on the road of my life.
Maybe we go our separate ways and never see each other again, maybe we will meet again, no matter what happens in the future, we, once, met.
