We are living

Seldom can you find a movie which mirrors the reality of being a student so much as this one. The boy's depressed with all the anticipation from his parents, pressure form his school and stuff like girlfriend or so. Gee, isn't it the stressful me that the movie is depicting?

I really appreciate the part where the boy fantasized about his future where he's supposed to be in the best public high school in New York, applying for the summer school, to become a successful CEO or banker in order to become wealthy and to live a decent life and get a beautiful wife. But with all the geeks who have extreme high GPA and excellent extra-curriculum background around him, he's just doomed.

No wonder he's stressed out. We are all anxious in a world that leaves people with so much to worry about. College study, job hunting, life and marriage, you name it. Sometimes it do occur to me that death might be the easiest escape from all this.

What can I do? Well, as the movie tells ya, you gotta stick it together and make a run for the things you really want in your heart. Summer school application? Becoming a CEO or President? Screw it. You gotta be who you are, aren't you?

Next, view your life from a different angle. Maybe life is tedious when you only see the downside of it. Brighten and savor moments of your life and you may find it much more colorful than you thought it could be. On your way back home , making out with the one you love, hanging out with your friend, talking, eating, breathing, this is called living. One not busy being born are busy dying.

Embrace life, do something crazy with your friend, say something sweet to your parents, kiss the one you love. And everyday is like living the movie~

  • Noelle: You know, Vampire Weekend's doing a show at the end of the month. Would you wanna go?

Craig: Yes, I would! With you, right?

Noelle: No, with Solomon. Yeah, with me!

  • Craig: Seeing someone lose it like that. You know, it reminded me of how I feel sometimes. Like I'm on the verge of just blowing up. All the stress and pressure and anxiety just bubbling up. But I'm never able to let it out like that. You know, I just keep it inside.
