I agree with the comments that Ceylon has begun to explore human nature and point the contradiction to the original sin of politics.
I have been wondering why the title of the film is "Three Monkeys", probably to satirize that in a society controlled by power, money, and desire, people are at the mercy of others like monkeys, and the politicians who think they are at the top of the food chain are nothing more than Slaves to power, and the saddest thing is that there are more than three monkeys in the movie, everyone is. And the status of women in the movie is the lowest, Hacer's degeneration is a masked female image, dazzled by emotions, and tragedy is inevitable.
The alienation effect can be seen everywhere, giving the audience a lot of time to reflect. Servet drives Hacer on the way, the dialogue is out of sync, which is rare in a movie, Servet talks about his vulnerable side, trying to arouse the goodwill of women. When he said these words, it was all Hacer's reaction shots, and it was only when he watched the whole film that he realized the intention of the mouth that did not correspond to the intention - the inconsistency of the heart, the hypocrisy of the male.
At the top of the hill, Hacer goes to Servet's last appointment. In the past, when I saw such a heartless man, I would be very indignant and have a lot to say, but this time I am very calm, this is human nature, this is a man.
Eyup convicted someone and was released from prison nine months later. He found that his wife was someone else's mistress, and his son had nothing to do. When he returned home, he was filled with the tension and depression of the whole film, constantly pushing to the top. His breathing is heavy, reminding us of middle-aged people who are under multiple pressures in the real world, increasing the sense of immersion and participation. The sound handling of the film is also a highlight, such as when Hacer tries to jump off the balcony, the train whistle, breathing, crying and Eyup's reaction shots, making the scene feel like a horror movie.
In addition to the farewell of the lover on the mountain, the chat scene between the restaurant and the friend also left a deep impression on me. Not long after Eyup was released from prison, he realized that his wife had cheated on him. He had nowhere to express his despair and grief. He wandered the streets, walked into a restaurant, and chatted with his friends. When I see me, I go to hang out with my relatives, but they treat me badly, I try to be alone, but I always cause trouble for others." There is quite the shadow of "Distant" here, like boiled water, tepid, but like extreme most people's lives.
Ceylon loves the seaside, and it's been like this since The Far Away. The seaside is a place for people to vent, a place to be alone. In "Three Monkeys", the home is placed directly by the sea.
The one-hour and forty-eight-minute movie took me almost half a month to finish. The low-saturated tones are mixed with dim and yellowish elements, and the rare green vegetation is especially striking. The image of "brother" has appeared twice, and it is very metaphorical. I still don't understand this point. I went to see other film reviews.
