For a director like Bresson who has created and practiced his own style, any criticism seems to lack respect. Just as Bresson's film is a swan song of minimalism, I will only write a minimalist review: this is a film about the self-destruction of human beings, and the only good person must be killed like Jesus. There is no forced rationality or moral problems in the whole film, only the step-by-step, irreversible failure of human nature. That's how movies should be, and Bresson sublimated movies.
