As a purebred gay who is extremely addicted to cp, I thought the show would look like this:
Unexpectedly, this is what comes to my mind after reading it:
This play is quite satisfactory, and it is still very good in depicting the male protagonist's mental journey of coming out of the closet. Whether it is the struggle of one's own sexual orientation, the exploratory communication with the opposite sex, the restraint and eagerness to the male god, and the handling of family relations are all ok. However, it may be a little disappointing for those viewers who want to play male and male CP.
Personally, I think the most successful and lovable characters in this gay drama are not the male and female protagonists Victor and Mia, nor the male god character Benji, but the nerd boy next door who is comedy, erudite and full of romance. Felix. He fully embodies the phrase Brain is the NEW sexy. The spark between him and the second-generation Lake was so gorgeous that it kind of grabbed the limelight of the hero and heroine.
Alright, let’s get down to blowing Felix’s rainbow farts in earnest:
First of all, he is a sweet friend
1⃣️ Feel at home for the new classmates who have just moved in, make friends attentively, and answer all kinds of questions about the school for the new classmates
2⃣️ Even in the face of disgust that you consider yourself a good friend, you will not hold grudges in your heart, and generously accept the apology of the other party
3⃣️Friends don't want to have sex with their girlfriends, try to help them get out of the predicament, even if they need to "show ugliness" in front of the person they love
4⃣️After learning about the sexual orientation of your friend, not only did he not judge or dislike it, but he also gave him a big hug and kept a secret
Second, he's a perfect lover
1⃣️The feeling of heartbeat
Surprisingly let the goddess in your mind feel her charm
2⃣️The romance of the anglerfish
In the face of the goddess's request for scoring, he sincerely told the other party that he should find a boyfriend who would not dwarf her as a score, and gave the example of anglerfish to impress the other party. (It's really overwhelmed here, romantic to the extreme?)
3⃣️I have seen your life and I want you to see mine too
"The environment you live in doesn't represent everything about you, and the opinions of the people around you can't represent you. You are already your best self."
4⃣️prom
Finally, after each other's childish stimulation, Lake confessed his love generously, and Felix finally embraced the beauty?
In the end, he is a filial son (presumably)
Although it is not described in detail in the play, it can be seen from the dialogue between the ninth episode and Lake that Felix has been dependent on his mother who suffers from depression and likes to hoard things since he was a child. Even growing up in such an environment, he always maintains an optimistic attitude towards life and treats everyone around him, including his mother.
Overall, Felix is an angelic presence in this show. Who doesn't like such a sunny, erudite, atmospheric, romantic...friend/boyfriend? The reason Felix is not popular in American high schools is probably because he is not good at sports.
ps: Although I have blown so many advantages of Felix, my favorite character is Benji. There are not many portrayals of him in the plot, but from some clues, it can be found that he also broke up with his family on sexuality issues. To make the other half happy, he will take care of the feelings of his friends, even in the face of temptation, he can remain rational and restrain his own desires. A perfect man with talent, good looks and figure. The man playing the band is so handsome
pss: I saw someone on the soup summed up several main characters with the lyrics of the mildew, which is quite appropriate, and posted it below for everyone to observe (Tumblr: lovesvictor)
Victor: The lingering question kept me up, two am, who do you love? I wonder till I'm wide awake // enchanted
Felix: I'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're about to cry. And I know your favorite songs, and you tell me about your dreams // you belong with me
Lake: And the camera flashes, make it look like a dream. You had it figured out since you were in school. Everybody loves pretty, everybody loves cool // the lucky one
Mia: And you call me up again just to break me like a promise, socasually cruel in the name of being honest // all too well
Benji: He says "What you've heard is true but I can't stop thinking about you" and I, I said "I've been there too a few times" // style
Pilar: This is looking like a contest of who can act like they care less // the story of us
Andrew: I jump from the train, I ride off alone. I never grew up, it's getting so old // the archer
Simon: And I ain't tryna mess with your self-expression. But I've learned a lesson that stressin' and obsessin' 'bout somebody else is no fun // you need to calm down
