It's a movie that mixes elements of crime, sex, mental illness, discrimination, family and work, alcohol and drugs. The camera constantly switches between the crumbling real world of the male protagonist Bruce and the dreamy confession of his wife, sometimes hilarious and sometimes gloomy, creating a bizarre and chaotic world. The film begins with the battle for the position of detective, each of which has its own representative character. The characters are extremely representative while exaggerated and deformed. They are the silhouettes of various characters in the dark and chaotic world. To a certain extent, they are also projected on you and me in the real world. The absurdity and reality are intertwined, which enhances the tension of the film. The film is fast-paced while maintaining the regular drumbeat of the story. Through the monologue of the wife in the fantasy, it can be easily switched between subsections. The upgrade and return of the wife's monologue also links the entire story line. However, because of the excessive force from the beginning, the stamina is not enough after more than half, which is a little regrettable. The unexpected and expected reversal of identities between the wife and Bruce should have been the climax, but the audience was already too tired to deal with it, so it did not achieve the shocking effect it should have. In my opinion, the male protagonist is not a good guy or a bad guy in the traditional sense, he is an exaggerated version of you and me. Full of swearing, childhood shadows, family splits, workplace frustrations, framing friends, indulging in alcohol and drugs, but helping strangers on the street. Downgrading these experiences and characteristics of him is the inner world that each of us may or may not know about: the disappointment in childhood is often the most profound, every family has disputes, and academic career cannot be smooth sailing, no matter how good Friends are also inevitably incompatible, addicted to games, novels, etc. It is difficult to quit, and harsh insults are also inevitable. However, none of us are evil, and all of us are willing to show kindness to the world. So Dirt is Bruce's story, and it's the story of each of you and me.
