I saw in the comments that someone mentioned the New York episode and was dragging the plot, or that the New York episode was blunt or that the male protagonist was very pushy. I couldn't help but have to say two things: it's soooo much easier to confess to someone you don' t know. I once got drunk in a bar full of strange foreigners and yelled "I'm gay" to the proprietress and the foreigners at the bar, but it took me two or three years to slowly come out to the people I knew. It's not over yet. But it was that embarrassingly drunk experience of coming out to a full bar that officially kicked off my coming out journey. So even when Victor came back from New York, he still portrayed his girlfriend cowardly in front of his family and friends. I have a deep understanding of it. I also used to chase girls in high school to prove that I could. The emotional problems caused by this kind of sexual conflict in the university have been known to the whole department. I didn't get rid of victor's mentality of fighting with myself until late in college. Coming out is never a brave one. A leap of faith is a protracted one-man battle. This drama does a good job at this part, it's way higher than love simon that super fairy tale.
