It may be a slight exaggeration, but it definitely feels that way. At the same time, the poor characterization before the linkage caused some plot changes to look blunt. After the plot, he has become a standard male lead who is extremely just and emotional; and the female lead, as a policeman, is an impulsive one from beginning to end, which is really a standard manifestation of too much acting.
