I'm a count, not a saint.

20.05.30, this weekend, I chose to watch the movie version of "The Count of Monte Cristo". I haven't read the original. These two sentences in the movie are very impressive. - "I'm a priest, not a saint." and "I'm a count, not a saint." - I am a priest, not a saint. I am an earl, not a saint.

...how do I understand it? I will. On the basis that I am, or will be, a Catholic, I believe in God. But I'm not against revenge either. It seems that the movie has been adapted a lot, and the ending is somewhat different from the original. But the happy ending of the comedy is still very happy. Although the boy does not seem to be the son of the Count of Monte Cristo in the original book, it is a pity.

Either revenge or power. Whether it is survival or fame. It's all based on the one who came from the ground-priest. Ruoyan's benefactor is like this. Thirteen years, taught a Monte Cristo.

At the end, he was originally a sailor, standing on a high cliff, overlooking the vast sea with thousands of waves, is he depressed or relaxed? Repentance, or good deeds?

The Count of Monte Cristo quotes

  • Albert Mondego: May I ask who you are, sir?

Count of Monte Cristo: For the present, your friend. Tomorrow, your host. For the short time formality stands between us, the Count of Monte Cristo.

  • Dorleac: And if you're thinking just now 'Why me, oh God?' the answer is: God has nothing to do with it. In fact, God is never in France this time of year.

Edmond: God has everything to do with it. He's everywhere. He sees everything.

Dorleac: Alright. Let's make a bargain, shall we? You ask God for help and I'll stop the moment he shows up.
