Most professors are crazy.

After more than two months of hard practice, today I finally officially got my driver's license. In "Professor and the Madman", these two professions are originally two professions that are very close in a sense. On the one hand, a professor must have a certain professional knowledge authority, but on the other hand, in the process of becoming this authority Had to put in an almost paranoid madness, so the professor, to me, was actually quite a lunatic. The topic that the professor studies also interests me, which is the compilation of dictionaries. This industry is very closely related to the word work I am doing now: the work of the writer is the art of writing and thinking based on (mostly in) an existing ready-made vocabulary. The lexicographer collects, organizes, and even studies the words used by people and artists. I have to say that this profession that can sit on the bench is very interesting to me. I have far less affection for the dictionary than the two main characters in the story. The first dictionary I owned when I was a child was the common small-sized "Xinhua Dictionary". Later, when I went to middle school, the Chinese teacher also bought a large-sized dictionary for us.

I admire foreign films that commemorate typical events. This kind of film has a very important meaning for a country. It can promote a lot of memorable spirits. This film has achieved it. I believe that China should also have many similar events. But there are very few such films. They do require a lot of courage. The audience may not buy it, but the meaning it leaves behind is the wealth of a country.

The stories and performances are quite textured, full of emotions and not overly sensational.

The Professor and the Madman quotes

  • Dr. William Chester Minor: It's freedom, Mrs. Merrett. I can fly out of this place on the backs of books. I've gone to the end of the world on the wings of words... . When I read, no one is after me. When I read, I am the one who is chasing--chasing after God.

  • Dr. William Chester Minor: Have you gotten to the "I's" by now? I had some to add to your words. But I can't seem to... I can't seem to find my pens.
