The film tells the story of Delauris, a second-rate female singer in a nightclub, who witnessed a murder and was chased by a gang leader. The police arranged for her to hide in a nun. Delauris couldn't stand the deserted life in the convent, but accidentally transformed the nun. The story of the courtyard choir.
DeLauris is a famous black female singer at Moonlight Nightclub. The owner of the nightclub, Vince LaRocca, the underworld leader, has an affair with her. Because Vincent gave her the fur coat worn by his wife, DeLauris angrily wanted to give it back to Vincent, but unexpectedly met Vincent's envoy to kill. She escaped the killer's pursuit and told the police officer Sud what had happened. Sud asked her to testify in court. Before that, in order to ensure her safety, she was hidden in St. Catherine's Abbey.
DeLauris is a lively and active person who likes to show her face. She can't stand the quiet and lonely life of the monastery. She ran out to sing and dance at night, and the dean had to put her in the choir, but she was dissatisfied with the bad choir. So the choir she transformed actually sang popular songs at Mass, but the words were changed to praise God. Unexpectedly, this was appreciated by the bishop.
DeLauris became more daring. She dragged the nun to the street to clean up, paint murals, and do publicity, so that people from the TV station came to film and interview, but this undoubtedly ruined Sude's plan. This made Sud very angry. News of the Pope's decision to visit the monastery excited the nuns, and the choir stepped up preparations.
But at this time, Sude told DeLauris that the court decided to hear Vincent's case ahead of time, and she would be free soon, but she felt that it was too fast. Just the day before the Pope came, the insider in the police informed Vincent, and when Sud found Delauris, she had been captured by Vincent's men. The nuns were furious when they heard the news and decided to rescue DeLauris.
In the Moonlight Nightclub, Vincent's subordinates thought that Delauris was a real nun, fearing that she would be punished by God for killing her, so they did not act. The nuns arrived just in time, and when Vincent was about to do it himself, Sud came to rescue them, and Vincent was arrested. The concert for the Pope was held as scheduled, and the Pope was very happy and satisfied. DeLauris posed for a photo with the Pope, and she really shot to fame.
