box monster

It's a humorous fable. "Cheese Bridge" was a glamorous Victorian city with residents obsessed with wealth, class, and smelly cheese! Yet beneath their fancy cobblestone roads live a horde of "horrific" monsters, who craw out of the sewers every night to steal children and cheese from residents' homes - and that's just the locals, of course! In fact, the "Box Monsters" are a group of very cute and shy creatures who hide in recyclable cardboard boxes, just like turtles like to hide in their shells. The Box Monsters adopted a human orphan and named him "Dansheng". This little boy became good friends with an adventurous, earthly girl, Wen, and they needed to build a bridge between the Box Monsters and humans -- especially It's when human politicians paint the Box Monsters as a bunch of scary monsters for votes, and then incite the populace to expel them...

Gothic animation, probably the box monsters in the underground world are regarded as harmful monsters by the people in the town, but they are actually a group of cute, timid and pollution-free heavy-gathering treasures. The plot after entering the underground from the world on the ground reminds me of "Zombie Bride", but the style of this movie is not as scary as the previous rendering of Zombie Bride, and the overall tone is warmer. Children can also read it, and teach everyone not to judge people by their appearance, and to really understand others, instead of just listening to rumors.

nice anyway

The Boxtrolls quotes

  • Winnie: [explaining to Eggs, who has been raised as a Boxtroll since he was a baby, how to act around humans] When you meet someone, you must look them in the eye, and shake hands.

[a confused Eggs does jazz hands]

    Winnie: What are you doing?

  • Eggs: [practicing his manners] It's a pleasure to meet you! It's a pleasure to meet you.
