human pride

A historically uplifting film, and one that helps eradicate prejudice against gays or other minorities once and for all. Whatever your sexuality, background, accent or profession, what really matters is not to stop seeking and feeling all the dignity, freedom and beauty of being human. Of course, for this you have to have the courage to work hard to recognize the flaws in the world and ourselves, and, if necessary, to stand up to the pervasive prejudice and injustice. But that is precisely what we are proud of. The narrative style of the film is unpretentious but powerful, especially the impromptu solo dance of Frank when he was meeting with the coal miners, and the passage of the female workers singing "Bread and Roses".

Great entry point, taking serious topics so lightly. In particular, the group play is outstanding, and each character is vivid and three-dimensional, showing considerable skill. ★★★★

From a cinematic point of view, some passages are a little deliberate, and some are too logical. But when I turn around and think about it again, in fact, as a gay, I have already been born to be different, dare to think, dare to do and unexpected - this story is very exciting, that special friendship is very touching, that's enough . As warm as the candle-yellow Van in the cold winter. Such a group of people have really lived a vivid life and become be gay be fabulous. I envy them.

Pride quotes

  • Cliff: [the committee is discussing where the LGSM members will be staying] Cliff: I don't mind taking more, Hefina. Not the lesbians so much, because of their cuisine, but I'll take an extra gay.

  • Bromley: They called us perverts.

Mark: Bromley, it's time for an important part of your education. Hands up, in this room, if you've ever been called a name like that.

[all the guys raise their hands]

Mark: Now, there is a long and honorable tradition in the gay community and it has stood us in good stead for a very long time. When somebody calls you a name... am I right Jonathan?

    Jonathan: Dead right.

Mark: You take it and own it.
