human pride

A historically uplifting film, and one that helps eradicate prejudice against gays or other minorities once and for all. Whatever your sexuality, background, accent or profession, what really matters is not to stop seeking and feeling all the dignity, freedom and beauty of being human. Of course, for this you have to have the courage to work hard to recognize the flaws in the world and ourselves, and, if necessary, to stand up to the pervasive prejudice and injustice. But that is precisely what we are proud of. The narrative style of the film is unpretentious but powerful, especially the impromptu solo dance of Frank when he was meeting with the coal miners, and the passage of the female workers singing "Bread and Roses".

The rotten country is good at removing thorns and haze from heavy themes and showing them as beautiful, inspiring, and showing little warmth like a fairy tale. The film is not bad, as a comedy, it is satisfactory enough. But the irony is that the gay friends in the film, as a vulnerable group, can empathize with the situation of the miners being squeezed and exploited, and are more willing to stand up. And there is no sympathy for the female voice who has been crying out for a little attention. Thinking about it is heartbreaking.

From the plot to the sensational control, the actors of a large wave of British dramas are very familiar, and they are quite innovative in their small views. There are frequent laughs, especially the aunt and fat girls are super bright. The miners and the gay class help each other, perhaps the best gay movie this year. Gay and Les in the first hall applauded after watching.

StephStellaZoe: [to the Tune of "Solidarity Forever"] Every woman is a lesbian at heart/Every woman is a lesbian at heart/Every woman is a lesbian at heart...

Reggie: You can't possibly say that every woman is a lesbian.

    Zoe: Why not?

Reggie: Because they're not! Esther Rantzen isn't a lesbian. My mum is not a lesbian.

    Stella: How do you know?

Reggie: How do I know my Mum's not a lesbian?

Ray: What he's trying to say is, you can't make grand, sweeping generalizations. It's not acceptable.

    [beat]

StephStellaZoe: [Resumes Singing] Every woman is a lesbian at heart/Every woman is a lesbian at heart/Every woman is a lesbian at heart/Including Reggie's Mum!

  • [as Mark Leaves to Go to The March]

Mark's Crotchety Old Neighbour: I've spoken to the council about your deviant parties.

Mark: There's no need to do that. Knock on the door, we'd let you in.

Mark's Crotchety Old Neighbour: They're sending a policeman!

Mark: Oh, I do hope so.
