A historically uplifting film, and one that helps eradicate prejudice against gays or other minorities once and for all. Whatever your sexuality, background, accent or profession, what really matters is not to stop seeking and feeling all the dignity, freedom and beauty of being human. Of course, for this you have to have the courage to work hard to recognize the flaws in the world and ourselves, and, if necessary, to stand up to the pervasive prejudice and injustice. But that is precisely what we are proud of. The narrative style of the film is unpretentious but powerful, especially the impromptu solo dance of Frank when he was meeting with the coal miners, and the passage of the female workers singing "Bread and Roses".
