But I don't want to be you

One of my favorite movies in the first half of 2020. Although it's nonsensical and full of dialogue, I'm so obsessed with this "real" feeling. It's as if the movie is walking in the life of ordinary people and trapped in their own state of mind. Most of the time, I want it too much To spy on other people's lives and thoughts. Fortunately, this feeling is just right to be satisfied in this film. Wallace: "Do you want to be me?" David: "I don't want to." After all, you can't escape your own absurd days in your life.

This is very much a literary film among literary films... I am exhausted watching the subtitles...

Supplementary bid. I deeply understand Wallace's loneliness and confession, and his pessimistic view of life is even more familiar. After all, looking back at the end of the long road, everything is just endless jokes.

The End of the Tour quotes

  • David Foster Wallace: It's so much easier having dogs.

David Lipsky: Ha, ha - I'm sure.

David Foster Wallace: I mean, yes, you don't get laid, but you don't have that feeling, like you're hurting their feelings, all the time.

    David Lipsky: Right, right.

David Foster Wallace: I'd like to emphasise strictly platonic relationship with the dogs.

David Lipsky: He he; I'll make sure I'll highlight it in the article, sure.

  • David Lipsky: Do you wanna have kids?...

David Foster Wallace: Yeah, I think that writing books is a little like raising children, y'know -you have to be careful; mm; it's ok to take pride in the work, but I think it's bad for someone to want the glory to reflect back on you.

David Lipsky: I mean, sounds like you're worried about having children.

David Foster Wallace: I'm not wanna say anymore about that - if that's ok?
