The fourth I watched. It started to feel different.
Watching I Kill My Mom, Fantasy Love, Maxi and Marty easily found out that Dolan wasn't good at plot, and the storyline always fell apart. The nearly three-hour storyline of Double-sided Lawrence is like a child who is not good at running signed up for a marathon. As you can imagine, this movie is a big challenge and breakthrough.
The story is well told, but the narrative is really bad. It lacks cohesion, looks dry and tired, and the story doesn't really appeal to me. Very fringe story, the emotional tug of war between men and women is trying to be real. However, some places may not need it. In short, Dolan has to strengthen editing and is willing to cut some haha
The soundtrack and color matching costumes are as good as ever, and it can be seen that more effort has been put into the soundtrack. Including some shots, depth of field and close-up, I personally think they are more mature. I guess Dolan would like Western oil painting, or Western art.
I still don't understand why I killed my mother has always been the highest rated. After that, Maxi and Marty, fantasy love, are more mature than I killed my mother.
The humorous dialogue that appears in it, occasionally makes me feel good. The plot characters are indeed weak, but Dolan is working hard!
Now that I think about it, why I prefer Dolan is mainly because his films are full of self, wonderful color matching and soundtracks, and I especially love the various details in his films (paintings on the wall, a door, a cup of sugar cubes) etc.), or close-ups, slow motion, I don't like to pursue the full story of the film, I prefer the expression of emotion and the whole formal style. All in all, I really like Dolan. Continue to patch.
