Vera died, falling down the stairs on the second floor with her wheelchair, smashing her back against the railing. Fractures are inevitable, but for a dying person, it has no effect.

I served her for forty years, inside and outside the house...from the kitchen to the bedroom, from a knife and fork to the sheets under her...At first her husband came back once every summer, and she had regular vacations elsewhere. When her husband died in a car accident, Vera came back here with a happy face and asked me to serve her 24 hours a day. Since then, she has never left.

All the maids before me were kicked away by her. Reasons like the silverware wasn't polished bright enough, the sheets were ironed unevenly, the dust on the chandelier got caught in her sharp eyes...or sometimes the young maid who sneaked out on a date was fired by her for being immoral . In short, there is no other employer who is more demanding than Vera.

I served her carefully, to get paid $40 a week. This is school money saved for my good daughter Selena, and I want her to use it to go to a better university and leave this poor and hopeless town. I want her to get out of here and live in a different way.

I didn't read, and my father married me to his employer's son, my only husband—a alcoholic who got nowhere. He gets drunk every day, and sometimes hits me with the things at hand. I don't want my daughter to see this, and I don't want her to have the same fate as me.

Eighteen years ago, that summer when there was a total solar eclipse, my husband died drunk. My daughter Selena got into a good university and became a journalist.

I keep all her reports, and I often read them to Vera, who is paralyzed in bed. A person as harsh as she is full of praise for Selena's report.

But, for fifteen years, Selena never came back.

Until this time, Vera was dead, and the hateful cop who questioned the cause of my husband's death came again.

He suspects that I killed Vera.

My daughter got the news out of nowhere and is back.

The 1995 suspense film "Tears Scar" unfolded with the narrative of such a woman.

Throughout the film history of 1995, under the unsurpassed afterglow of the stars in 1994, masterpieces such as "Seven Deadly Sins", "Braveheart", "Death Ramble", "The Very Suspects" and so on appeared.

In 1995, it belonged to the hero Wallace, the nun Helen, and the high-IQ suspect Gint. This year belongs to the "grand narrative".

"Hot Tears", which takes a woman from the bottom as the main narrative, has not won even a single Oscar nomination despite the blessings of gold medal screenwriter Stephen King and Oscar best actress Kathy Bates. In the film history of that year, "Scar of Tears" had no story.

three

"Hot Tears" is based on Stephen King's novel "Frightening the Birds." He narrates the theme of the original book this way: The point is not to describe a murder, but to reveal how the past powerfully affects the present.

The story of the movie connects the "past" and "present" with a sheriff who has been in the police for 30 years.

In the 30 years of police service, he has experienced 86 cases and closed 85 cases. For a person who is alone and regards his work as his family, he can end his career calmly by closing the only case. And this case is exactly 18 years ago, the accidental death of Selena's father who fell into an abandoned well while drunk.

It looked like an accidental death, but the sheriff's experience determined that it was a premeditated homicide. And he believes that the murderer is the wife of the deceased, Selena's mother - Dolores.

The case was closed that year, and Dolores was not charged.

And the current death of Vera happened to happen to this old woman again.

Witnesses said they saw Dolores push Vera down the stairs and raise her rolling pin as Vera was dying.

The sheriff found Dolores guilty in the first place. Why?

First, she is a habitual murderer.

She deliberately murdered her husband 18 years ago and, today, her harsh employer.

For 18 years, her daughter hated her and never saw her again.

Everyone in the town knew that she had killed her husband. The lawless young men drove their cars and smashed the windows of her house, calling her a murderer in front of her. Words like "bitch" and "slut" are written on the walls of her house.

Can't these prove her crime?

Eight years ago, her employer, Vera, had already made a will, giving Dolores all her $1.6 million property behind her.

Out of the lure of money, the woman killed her employer in an attempt to obtain this gifted wealth in advance.

The sheriff concluded that she was such a hateful person.

Four

In the movie, daughter Selena is the source of all stories.

She excelled in grades when she was young, helped her mother with housework, and worked as a hotel errand to support the family. Although the family is not good, the mother is also devoted to all kinds of care and love. Moreover, she loved her father deeply, and even though he was an alcoholic, she was often willing to respond to her daughter's coquettish intimacy.

But, in the year of the total solar eclipse, everything went wrong for Selena.

She started getting poor grades and stopped smiling when she didn't wash her hair. She was always huddled under an old coat, shivering like a frightened rabbit.

Out of concern, Dolores went to school to find her.

Are you on drugs? Are you pregnant? She thought of all the bad things that could happen at this age, and said to her daughter:

Selena, no matter what trouble you get in, I love you the same.

Selina Yi still resisted resolutely until her mother saw the necklace around her neck - it was left to her father by her grandmother. Why on her neck?

Fives

As a suspenseful movie, the two murders before and after point to a low-level woman who has never left the town, the nanny Dolores.

"Hot Tears" is the second collaboration between actress Kathy Bates and Stephen King after "10 Days of Dangerous Love". The seemingly simple, honest and enthusiastic, but actually gloomy and perverted control freak in "Ten Days of Dangerous Love" was vividly portrayed by Kathy Bates. With this role, she won the Oscar for best actress that year and became the The perfect choice for the "gloomy heroine".

As a suspense-based movie "Tears Scar", Kathy Bates's expression of the characters has greatly increased the horror atmosphere of the film.

Was she responsible for both murders, and what were her motives and purposes?

These seemingly easy-to-solve mysteries are slowly revealed in the flashbacks of the film's "past" and "present".

six

In the final analysis, "Scar of Tears" is a "female story". Talk about the various external dilemmas faced by women in the roles of wives, mothers and daughters. Although it was produced in 1995, it is also applicable today.

What do you do when your husband is an alcoholic and domestic violence?

What do you do when your husband ignores you at home but has a lover outside?

What do you do when your husband spends the education money you save for your children without telling you the truth?

When your husband does something bad to your daughter...what do you do?

How can a woman survive in the face of ridicule, abuse, and extreme humiliation?

This movie gives her the answer -

Sometimes being a bitch is the only way a woman can survive.
