When I saw Ellie's crush when I was halfway through watching this movie, I remembered my own crush on other people in high school and the fear of not being in a relationship with a girl. I sometimes wish I could have the experience I have now and travel back to my high school days to make up for the regret that I didn't dare to do anything.

When I was a freshman in high school, I liked a girl, but I never dared to talk to her alone or say hello. I only dared to get acquainted with her friends and slag her friends to invite her friends over for dinner and then "By the way. "Invite her to come. If I met her in the hallway, I would definitely say hello to her friends first and then pretend to say hello "by the way". In her eyes when she didn't see me, it was my feeling that I secretly looked at her.

I wish I had the courage and a little bit of wisdom I have now to rush over and tell her that I like you very much. Would you like to have a meal with me. hahahahahhaha.

It's already 2020, I hope everyone can be brave and love the people you want to love. Teenagers! If you like someone! Go up! ! Just rush up to get a head start. hahahahhahahaa. very sweet.

The Half of It quotes

  • [Ellie, the true author of many classmate assignments turned in, comes up to Mrs. Geselschap's front desk to turn in her own assignment]

Mrs. Geselschap: Six different takes on Plato. Impressive.

Ellie Chu: [maintaining the pretense] Just the one.

Mrs. Geselschap: That's what I tell the bartender.

Ellie Chu: How come you never turn me in?

Mrs. Geselschap: And have to read the actual essays they'd write?

  • Ellie Chu: I'm Ellie Chu.

Aster Flores: Yes, I know. You've only been playing my dad's services every Sunday for, like, four years. You're his favorite heathen. He can't handle mediocre accompanists, even if they ARE saved.
