Personally, the Chinese name "The Evil Man" is far better than the English name The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil.
The Devil, the murderer, may have a lot of untold stories behind him that made him his last appearance, but he is an undisputed villain.
Interestingly there are two remaining:
The Gangster, Jang Dong-soo, the boss of the underworld, the perfect representative of the underworld forces, murders, operates illegally, and pulls one's teeth out at every turn. On the surface, he is a villain, but he is actually warm and pure-he gave the girl an umbrella on a rainy day and rushed when she saw her being killed. Go out; attach great importance to feelings and loyalty - do not hesitate to catch up with yourself for yourself and for the dead brother; gradually sublimate from venting personal anger to avenging public revenge. Great as good as evil.
The Cop, Zheng Taishuo, a good policeman who is full of justice, did not hesitate to break with his boss in order to chase the murderer, did not hesitate to blacken up under the guise of underworld power, did not hesitate to kill his "partner" to bring the prisoner to justice, and also turned to the black boss when he was desperate. Some people say that he is actually the main body that benefits the most, and that he is a hidden "villain". But looking back, starting from the duty of a policeman, I can't find any motives and practices for him to deliberately do evil. It is his duty to give prisoners a trial by legal means.
Speaking of which, the main reason why the story is fascinating is that it creates a huge contrast: on the one hand, it is Zhang Dongzhu, who is full of savage flesh on the left and white tiger on the left, with a righteous heart and a righteous heart; on the other hand, he is abandoned. The desperate Zheng Taishuo did not hesitate to use the power of Satan to defeat the evil struggle. The two characters who were opposed to death came together because of a common goal, and there was no sense of disobedience, which must be said to be a huge success.
In the final analysis, the story is also conveying a simple truth - the world is all black and white, and the way to achieve justice cannot be judged by preconceived experience. In the process of chasing down and approving the murderer, the law enforcers have been playing incompetent and ridiculous roles. They should have performed the duty of justice and guardianship of the citizens, but they have delayed the fighters and fought each other again and again; on the other hand, the underworld gangs, although usually Flying Doggou is doing an invisible business, but at the critical moment, they can distinguish right from wrong, have strict discipline, and have strong execution. It is their efforts that bring justice to the sky. Looking at it this way, the police are very much like Gangster, and the Jang Dong-soo gang is the real Cop who searches, arrests and ultimately convicts the murderer.
