Growing up in the light means that there is no darkness in this world.
Since I was a child, there have always been some people who said to me with kindness: "You are too simple, the world is not as good as you think." Even though all kinds of things happened, I began to be disappointed a little bit. But I still believe with luck that only a small number of dirty people pollute the whole world, and most people are still kind. After watching this movie, I began to wonder: Is human nature inherently evil? Instead, a small group of people with conscience are struggling to save the world?
Because of this movie, I learned that there is such an inhumane thing in the world as circumcision. The dual physical and psychological pain that accompanies the lives of circumcised women, I dare not imagine their helplessness, struggle and suffering. It's like Wallis sitting face to face with a white London girl, but it's a world apart. This difference is not only a physical difference, but more importantly, what they have been instilled in their heads since childhood, which is something that will affect a person's life. If a child is born surrounded by these false ideas and baseless rituals, she will take it for granted and will not question the validity of these things. But fortunately, when she walked out of the desert and saw the wider world, she also came to her senses.
I was amazed at the beauty of Hua Lisi after she became an international supermodel, not only because of her stunning appearance, but because she saw more and more firmness and confidence in her eyes. The cuteness when walking in the hallway in high heels for the first time, the naturalness when taking half-naked photos, and the light in her eyes when she gave the final speech shocked me.
Originally, I wanted to say that I am glad that I live in an era where little feet were not bound and in a country where there was no circumcision ceremony, but suddenly I thought, isn’t that how people are supposed to be? Whether it is the democracy of Western countries or the party system in China, these are not absolutely correct, but the freedom of the human body is. If you feel lucky just because the body is not hurt by the outside world, it is the biggest sadness.
Maybe it was something Xiao Dong said yesterday, or maybe it was this movie. Some of my thoughts began to change, and I no longer thought so persistently that the lower body was dirty. Maybe it will take some time to get used to it, but starting from today, I will no longer escape, and will treat every part of my body as a gift from nature.
