Nothing is ordinary

When I watched the movie, I kept thinking about how to understand the title of this movie. After watching it, my understanding was: living in an era of peace does not mean "peace", and there are "anxiety, trouble, pain" under the surface of peace Wait, for everyone, it is not "peace", we still need to pick up the "sword" in our hearts to cut off fear, use action to cut off anxiety, use happiness to heal pain, like a wise warrior, face the "The Age of Peace".

1. Practice everything

The average person does a certain thing to hone a certain skill. In the movie, the protagonist trains ring gymnastics and practices gymnastics skills. After he has experienced the darkest moment in his heart, he realizes the difference between knowledge skills and wisdom. What he really cultivates is our "heart", not just skills. .

To cultivate "heart" is to practice everything.

Knowledge is my understanding of things, and wisdom is to apply this knowledge to reality. For example, many people are aware of the "social proof principle," which states that we use the actions of others to determine what actions to take. Wisdom is the application of this principle to reality, the audience who laughs with "canned laughter" while watching a TV show, and the customer who buys a product with others at a product presentation. Even though neither of them thought they were being influenced, they were actually being influenced by the principle of social proof.

These are the wisdom that turns knowledge into action. Cultivation of the mind is to practice everything, from all kinds of things, to find the place that needs to be cultivated, and then continue to practice.

More importantly, practice from adversity. There are some things that can be easily obtained, which are not helpful for cultivation. If you want to be happy, do some easy things, such as watching dramas; and do some difficult things, such as writing an article; the exercises you get are different, and you can get happiness from harder things. is an ability.

2. Happiness is an ability

Few people feel like they don't want to be happy. But many people in life regard happiness as a pursuit; the pursuit of money, the pursuit of honor, the pursuit of fame.

After watching the movie, I feel that happiness should be an ability.

This ability needs to be cultivated and practiced, not to use external objects to satisfy one's own happiness. When I was a student, I felt that getting into college was the ultimate goal. After I got accepted, I found that finding a job had become a new goal; when I found a job, I found that making money became the ultimate goal. I thought I would be happy after I achieved these goals, but instead of the happiness I imagined, I had new troubles and pains.

Aren't we happy after achieving those goals? No, I will feel fulfilled and the efforts are worthwhile and not in vain. Happiness is the process, not the result.

There is a scene in the movie, Socrates said to take Dan to see something, and then took him to climb the mountain. Dan was very happy and excited during the climb. After reaching the top of the mountain, Socrates pointed to a very ordinary piece at Dan's feet. Stone said to him, this is what I want you to see. Dan didn't understand very much. Climbing the mountain for three hours was like showing him this rock? Socrates said yes.

The good thing is not what it looks like, but the journey to get it. Your actions are happy, even if you get a stone, you are happy, this is the ability to be happy.

Not happy because it is beautiful, but beautiful because it represents happiness.

3. Life is a mystery full of "contradictions", don't try to solve it

There is a saying in the book The Miracle of Mindfulness: A miracle is walking on the earth. It means to let us live in the moment. Many people agree with this sentence and think that they are also implementing this sentence.

The protagonist Dan suffered a smashed thigh fracture in a car accident. After a huge psychological struggle, he was determined to give up his dream of gymnastics and study with Socrates wholeheartedly. Then he asked Socrates, "What shall I do next?" Gymnastics."

It's hard to imagine that after taking up the courage and determination to give up something that even you and others seem to be unable to achieve, suddenly a voice says to you: you should do this again. What kind of mood will this be.

That's how life is, we go back and forth on the same path. Going the same path back and forth over and over again means we're "tortured" by the same thing over and over again, but we get different feelings from each experience.

"A miracle is walking on the earth." We are just walking on the earth, but we have undergone incredible changes, isn't this a miracle?

Life is full of contradictions, and life is full of uncertainty to be precise. Don't always try to escape uncertainty, I think the right thing to do is face it, accept it, and eventually you'll find that it's the right thing to do.

Fourth, live in the present moment, without distinction.

There is a scene where Socrates Jordan goes to a bridge in the school, Socrates pushes him into the water, and Dan falls with an "Ah!" When he got up, Dan asked him why he was doing this to him? This is a lesson Socrates taught him, live in the moment!

Living in the moment is like Dan falling from the sky into the water. At that moment, he didn't have any distractions, he didn't think about the past and the future at all, he just let out an "Ah!"

It's that simple to live in the present moment.

Dan took advantage of the technique Socrates taught him to focus on the moment, and completed the pommel horse event in gymnastics, which he was not good at. When he came back, he said to Socrates, "I learned your technique, I learned to focus on the moment." Socrates pointed out at once, you are proud, you are proud of the past, you are divided, you are not living in the present.

As a normal person, I can be proud or sad about the past, and worried and uneasy about the future. When there is discrimination, there is no focus on the present moment.

Everything we do is extraordinary, not because of how high or valuable it is, but because it allows us to discover the meaning of life; the meaning lies in the whole process of life, in everything we do.
